Is there something else you haven't told us? I work for Prime too and although one of the more strict companies.... Due to covid even they have relaxed their requirements. We had a 70 year old recently. So I'm wondering if there is some other reason. Something in the past such as a DUI you think is no big deal cause it was 20 years ago?

NO! I am squeaky clean. I had one accident (not my fault) 40 years ago and never had a violation in 44 years of driving. My criminal record is pristine. As stated in my last reply to Gregg M. I have not yet looked into prime but intend to if Swift doesn't work out.

What state do you reside?

Some states, particularly Florida south of I-4, limit your opportunities.

I’m turning 66 on Jan 27th and just received my official invitation to Orientation with Prime on January 31 in SGF.

I’m a permit holder so Student driver.

Prime is only company giving me a chance. I retired at age 60-1/2 after 38 years with one employer. Clean driving and criminal records. The issue has been the 5-1/2 years away from work. Most companies want verifiable employment during the last 3 years.

Age in this industry has very little to no bearing on getting hired. I started at 53 without any question and am now 61 and my age has never been a factor. We have a handful of drivers in their 70’s. Climbing tanks everyday.

All companies have freight lanes. If you live in the companies frieight lanes then they will look at that canidate much closer. Companies have for several years been shortening their average length of haul. Drivers want better home time options and not be out for 4-6 weeks at a time these days. There is much more that goes into the decision to hire someone other than just their clean background.
