I got my first drivers license on a stick too, but with a 10 speed truck it didn't help me at all.
My question is does anyone know of any companies that will reimburse you for your CDL tuition
Keith, many of the companies hiring rookies offer tuition reimbursement. It is usually advertised on their website, or you can easily ask a recruiter that question. It is not paid out in one lump sum. They dole out a little each month for maybe a year or two until it is finally all paid. I can't really give you a list of companies, but anytime you are interested in a company just make a call and ask a recruiter about it.
CDL:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
- Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
- Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
This is the alternator. It is properly mounted and secured. It is not cracked bent or broken. All bolts are present and tight.
This is the belt around the alternator. It is properly mounted and secure and has no abrasions, bubbles, cuts or dry rot. If I pull on it (actually pull on it), it has no play.

The coolant hoses are properly mounted and secured. No ABCD and are not leaking …

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Pre-trip Inspection:
A pre-trip inspection is a thorough inspection of the truck completed before driving for the first time each day.
Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.

So, I am starting my CDL training 12/31 with College of Dupage. Its 6 wks. 240 Hrs. They have 100% job placement, but cannot guarantee a job. Which I am not concerned with. I have passed all my CPL tests and endorsements. Passed my DOT physical and drug test.
I have pass all the test numerous times on Truckingtruth and truckercountry. I know it frontward and backwards- Properly mounted and secured Not cracked bent or broken, no abrasions buldges or cuts. Not leaking Belt driven no more than 1/2 inch play or (1/4) Frame and cross members properly mounted and secured non missing etc....
College of Dupage only trans on manual transmissions which is not a problem since I originally got my drivers license on a stick. In my area Chicago land, there are many companies to choose from.

DOT:
Department Of Transportation
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
OOS:
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
