Hey Rob, what makes the interview memorable to me is that you gave out such good information. It wasn't really a bout you, but revealed some of the things that helped you be successful as a new trucker. That is a great way to talk in an interview like that. Excellent work!

I especially liked the way you explained how and why you burn through your 70 each week. I run differently than you do, but I still have the same experience as you. My dispatcher knows what to expect and that makes it much easier for them to keep us moving. I too have few conversations with my dispatcher. He tells me he has never worked with another driver who is so easy to work with. Your fleet manager obviously trusts you and knows you will handle whatever he sends your way. Keep it up man - it's great to have you in here in our forum!

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Thank you Kearsey for posting this here, thanks Rob for doing the interview. Great information for a rookie driver. This answered some questions I had about being more productive in flatbed. I try and run similar to how you do Rob and realize it's the securement and tarping of a load that is taking the most time for me. Yes those tarps smh lol, I agree that is the most difficult part of the job.... And you forgot to mention how dirty you will get doing flatbed!! lol

Again thanks for posting this and stay safe out there.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Rob’s approach to top performance is universal. It starts with an attitude, a willingness to problem solve and take care of your business with minimal intervention from management.

The interview is priceless in many ways. Two very successful drivers who began their quest on Trucking Truth.

Totally awesome! Thanks to both Rainy and Rob!
