Is it common for company drivers to purchase their own seats and have them swapped out with the OE seats? I know many high end seats can cost thousands of $. Or, is this mainly something for an OO?

If you could have any seat you wanted, what would you choose and why?

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

One of the most difficult things to answer regarding seats is similar to assessing driver personalities, no two are the same. My Volvo has the factory seat which is fine for me in regards to comfort. The big issue is being 6’4” and the seat frame is simply too tall for my liking. If I do anything, it’ll be be swapping to a low profile seat frame.

Seats are all different for sure and expensive. I’ve never heard of a company driver buying their own, but if the stock seat is that bad can never hurt to ask the company about switching.

I have Legacy Lo profile seats and they run about 1200 a seat. I find them very comfortable. The driver seat is getting worn so will be getting it redone before long.

Prime used to have a model of a special high tech seat in our terminal. It was $3000. Most drivers here are straight lease and the seat needed to be kept with the truck once turned in. So kiss your 3 grand good buy while increasing the resale value of the truck for prime.

Nah... Not worth it.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
