From what I see on their website, the company requires a road test and that is it. They are not a training company, given that they do not hire without experience, so I don't believe the company is setup to send drivers out with trainers for any length of time beyond a road test.

Hopefully a current/recent Crete Driver can expand on this.
Anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks, and based on their trainer's discretion. Mostly depends on the student's aptitude (same as most carriers).
How long are Crete trainees with a trainer before going solo?
It may be longer for you coming over from HOW.

All of the jobs posted on Crete's website require 1 year of OTR experience. 9 years ago... Have we not seen hiring requirements change over a span of years?
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
I’m not going there.
I watched a driver with no idea what direction to turn his truck to make his trailer go where he needed it. Then he wold pop his breaks, start beating his steering wheel, then move 3 feet and repeat.
All at a dock with at least a truck length and a half up front to maneuver. And all he was doing was moving over one door.

Obviously. I searched the diary section and that’s what came up. Wasn’t intended to refute your post…

Maybe the driver was frustrated and overwhelmed, causing a loss of all training recollections for backing? Maybe it was a bad trainer? Who knows....
We've all seen, or will see, some out here that make us wonder how they were hired, or if they actually had any training. Help them if possible, but not everyone can be saved.
