I enjoy any time I get a chance to get in the trailer and help unload. The receiver today just had one guy available so we roped 12 half ton rolls of carpet and some pallets out the back.

Dang did I realize I’m not in shape to do that everyday. I’ve been with this company a few past two years and I still don’t plan on leaving for 6-8 more months. I’ve been looking into P&D lately.

Im gonna take that time to lose a pound or twenty.

P&D:

Pickup & Delivery

Local drivers that stay around their area, usually within 100 mile radius of a terminal, picking up and delivering loads.

LTL (Less Than Truckload) carriers for instance will have Linehaul drivers and P&D drivers. The P&D drivers will deliver loads locally from the terminal and pick up loads returning to the terminal. Linehaul drivers will then run truckloads from terminal to terminal.

I know the feeling. The ole brain thinks one thing and the ole body says differently.

Since September I have lost 45 pounds! I went down 4 pant sizes.

I set a goal and will make that goal by March or April.

You can do it.

Kearsey, what are you doing to get such great results? Diet? Exercise? Both? Give us some advice from your experience.

Congratulations Kearney!

How did you do it?

I've dropped 35 lb since February and the big thing is I've kept it off all this time. I'm doing it by eating more of a keto or diabetic/protein (more)/carbs (less) way of eating. No real exercise other than taking Monty out to pee.

Last December I was threatened by my VA doc that he was going to put me on Metformin for being pre-diabetic. I told him let me lose some weight first and we'll see this year. Had my phone conference with him last week and he says my A1C is good enough to not be on any medication for diabetes. Now the next thing is to have him monitor my blood pressure and hopefully come off of one or two of my blood pressure meds. It's not been monitored since I had AFib for 4 months back in 2019/20. Time to get off some of these damn meds that the VA likes to put people on.
