At this point the best thing to do is to try to chill out and get a good nights sleep.
Stay calm as you can. You don’t need to be perfect to pass the 3 CDL exams.
Remember that for the backing skills you are given plenty of time to start over if you mess up the initial setup. Don’t panic. It may cost you some points, but you will still pass.
CDL:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
- Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
- Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
I have my CDL test tomorrow. I think I'm pretty good on my pre trip and my brake check. But I was still having troubles with the skills on my last day of scool. Now I'm very nervous about tomorrow. Is there any tips that could help me?

I'm right there with ya man. My test is coming up in a couple weeks and I'm fretting myself away. The main thing is don't overthink it. An instructor told me once, "Don't think about it just do it." Watch your setup lines, and GO SLOW ON MANEUVERS. The slower you are the better. When you start going fast you miss things and that's when you make mistakes. Its designed for you to pass. Go get em.

At this point, you know what you know and what you can do. Be confident in your decision-making, trust your instinct, and try not to be perfect - this should help you take the edge off anything. May I suggest a technique I used to help me? Also, I've used it in other trades when being evaluated. I envision that I am training my evaluator. I literally envision that they are hearing and seeing what I am doing for the first time. When I do this, it relaxes me and helps me to remember to cover every aspect of the evaluation.

Just get out of your head. You know what to do, so just do it. Anxiety has taken out more than one CDL test taker.

Aaron, my CDL test is tomorrow as well! I'm right there with you! I'm as nervous as a sheep among wolves! But I'm just letting that anxiety go. All you can do is your best.

This is exactly the mindset I used when doing my pre trip for my CDL. It is also what I used to tell my students, "Imagine I'm a friend who knows nothing about this and you are explaining it to me."
