After a very long 2 months away from my family I am now a proud solo driver with Central Refrigerated! I got my truck today and I have to say, you guys were right about having to start at the bottom lol. 416,000 miles when I turned the ignition on. I've heard that 450,000 is the mileage where Central/swift tries to replace the truck so good-luck-2.gif And also it is s swift truck instead of a Central truck embarrassed.gif But all in all I'm very happy. I wanna thank everyone on here for all of the advice. I havent posted a lot but I try to read through the forums every day or so. It seems like every time I have a question I come on here and search the forum for a few minutes and find the answer lol. Now its time to prove my worth. My first load is a 2 stop local delivery here in Salt lake. Then hopefully tomorrow morning I'll be heading out towards the East to get back home. Its been a long journey and now that its real the butterflies are kicking in lol. I know that I know what I'm doing and I can do it. I just have to go out and get the job done. I feel like once I get this first solo run out of the way I'll calm down. I know every day is gonna be a new lesson. I just hope the dollar figures on those lessons stay low haha. Thanks again everyone and if you see Swift Transport truck #120201 give me a shout!

Thank you everyone! So far so good lol. Just hoping I filled out this dern comchek right now haha

Delta, the training side I really enjoyed. My trainers were very patient and knowledgeable. It is a very fast paced program. If you excel in that type of deal than you'll enjoy it. Some of the policies that swift has brought in are not really great. But for a first company, so far I feel good about it. Good luck with whomever you choose to go with!

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Congratulations Chris!

Hey that truck is not so bad, after my first truck dropped a valve I got put in one that had 987,000 miles on it. That thing stunk inside like wet dog. Fortunately they sold it right out from under me about three weeks later.

I'll tell ya.....I think a cross-country trip by road should be on everyone's bucket list. When you drive this land from coast to coast you really understand just how big it is and how far you are away from home. Whenever I'd get out West I used to laugh to myself and think, "OMG I don't think I can make it back home from here. It's sooo far! I don't know if I have the energy."

You ain't kidding Brett! I look at my Atlas and think its gonna take me forever to get there! I do agree that everyone should do that drive. With my trainer we got a load going from California to North Carolina and it was one of the coolest trips I've taken! That definitely helped keep the fire stoked inside me
