Haha I climbed up on my headache rack for the bird's-eye view.

DAC:

Drive-A-Check Report

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).

It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.

Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.

I want an enclosed cabinet headache rack so I could have more storage space.

this load was already secured at our yard but i think i should build a bulkhead in front next time... what do you guys think??

Bulkhead:

A strong wall-like structure placed at the front of a flatbed trailer (or on the rear of the tractor) used to protect the driver against shifting cargo during a front-end collision. May also refer to any separator within a dry or liquid trailer (also called a baffle for liquid trailers) used to partition the load.

I don’t usually worry about a bulkhead on this type of rod. The oiled ones, that’s another story though. I would have done a wrap with the first and last straps though, then used chains instead of straps for the rest of the load. Five straps seems a tad light on securement, probably would have done two wrapped straps and four chains. BUT, it’s flatbed, everyone has their own way of doing it.

So as a forklift operator in a factory my primary duties involve loading dry vans and other indoor tasks, but occasionally I get to go outside and load a flatbed with broken pallets. The pic is of the load I did today. It took me an hour and fifteen minutes to get it done because the pallets were stacked so poorly, but I got it done. In the past I have actually been able to unload good pallets and reload with broken pallets in just under an hour, but the pallets were well stacked in that case. I enjoyed loading that junk, but I don't think I'd want to have to haul it.

Dry Van:

A trailer or truck that that requires no special attention, such as refrigeration, that hauls regular palletted, boxed, or floor-loaded freight. The most common type of trailer in trucking.

Driver unload, or that a lumper in the crane?

I'm pretty sure I could have operated that crane better than the old codger at the helm, but nevertheless I was delegated to cameraman

I've operated most everything except a crane and a train locomotive. I'd still like to try both if I could get the opportunity.
