CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Very cool! You'll be in great company there. It seems half the people from TruckingTruth wind up there. But hey, when you have great equipment, great miles available, and one of the best starting pay packages in the industry it just makes sense!

Congrats. You'll enjoy your time in Springfield, I know I did. I pulled out of there with my instructor this morning and put in my first 415 miles of big rig driving today!

The CR England recruiter I was talking to called me today with a $5K sign on bonus offer, but I turned it down because I heard more bad things about CR England and lots and lots of good about Prime Inc. I was going to go with England at first but Prime seems to be the logical choice.

I got a family member who works with Prime, and he's only been there less than two years and his pay is phenomenal.
