Anyone know if Navajo Trucking and May Trucking do hair folicle testing or just urine? The list at hair follicle vs urinalysis breakdown by company was last updated for these companies in October 2014 so I'm looking for current information. Thanks!

Hey guys looking to get clean and into trucking. I'll be around chicago il. Any one know of any major companies around they're that only do the urine test? The wiki list is pretty useful but most of those haven't been updated since 2015 so I'm going for some more up to date information

Jalapeno, Chicago is a major hub for freight. You don't need a company near you to get a trucking job in that area. Just about any of the major carriers will be hiring from that area. I have never lived anywhere near the trucking company that I work for, usually more than 1,000 miles away. All that is required is that you live in an area that they are hauling freight to. That is how they get you home for your home time. They find you a load that is headed in the direction of your home and then they let you take the truck home after you deliver it.

We have a place here on the web site where you can fill out one application and have it sent to many different companies. If you will click Here, it will take you to that page. Scroll down the page until you find option #2 and you can enter your zip code in Chicago and you will get a listing of the many companies that hire from that area. That will help you see who is hiring from that area. I would look into Western Express if I were you. Last I heard they were still just doing a urine test. I got my start there, and it has served me well.

Whatever you do, make sure you won't drop hot when you go into an orientation. That is the one thing that will kill your career before you even get a chance to give it a try.

I can only speak for Prime. As of January of this year they only do urine testing. I just got popped for a random test last week, and it was urine also.

Like OS said, a failed test is a career killer. I'd highly suggest you wait at least 6 months before submitting to a test.

BMI:

Body mass index (BMI)

BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:

  • Underestimate body fat for older adults or other people with low muscle mass
  • Overestimate body fat for people who are very muscular and physically fit

It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.

Call them and find out! Also, if someone does call or otherwise contact a company, please let TT know so the page can be updated with the new info and date as well. Same goes for anyone who does the hiring process and can comment on recent testing (UA only versus UA & hair tests).

THANKS!

How up to date is this info on these companies. I am looking to get into the trucking business in the spring and just want to make sure I'm all ready and have a clean record and make sure my drug samples come back a-ok

Ok, I was just informed privately that CR England does both the hair follicle and urinalysis test. Thanks! That's one down and many more to go! I'll keep building the list as we learn more:

It says next to the name of the company when we last received information about them.
