...press an unconventional (men wanting women trainers, truck stop chapels) or irresponsible (beer in the truck) point.

What's wrong with a truck stop chapel? I see them all over the place.

Is that really a thing?!?

Yes, but "chapel" in the sense of a place of worship, not a place to get married (not that I've personally seen anyways). They're pretty common in larger truck stops, although they tend to be very small. I imagine not more than twenty people could attend at once at most of the ones I've seen, and even that would be pretty tight. Many local churches also offer shuttle service on various days from truck stops.

Oh that's really nice that they have that. I had never even considered anyone trying to practice their beliefs while on the road.

The chapel is often a converted trailer, off to the side & out of the way. There are several Trucker ministries around. The chapels work both as a place for travelers to worship and an outreach activity.

I never said that I want a female trainer... That would be weird and uncomfortable! I was looking for opinions on a subject that seems to come up a lot. Women have the ability to request a female trainer and I was just curious if men are given the same ability.

I know what you mean. Technically I think you're right and if you really felt strongly about it I suppose you could try to get a lawyer and force the issue. But as a practical matter we all understand why women are allowed to request woman trainers, and the entire issue affects a very small percentage of the world population, so I don't see it going very far.

Months later this has become a hot topic

And yes, I have seen men use women's restrooms before because they feel more comfortable there. There was a huge debate about that issue when Global fitness allowed a man to use the women's changing room because he felt more comfortable. Since he identified as female the company felt that it was appropriate. A lot of women were ****ed and when they confronted Global fitness on it they were told that no one would force them to stay at Global fitness and they were welcome to seek membership at gyms that did not respect a persons right to choose.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Hey all,

I would think that a male trainee requesting a female trainer should at least initially send up a flag or two to be considered. He may have a very legitimate reason, but he may not. As a school teacher for the past seven years I have always been extra cautious and aware of others and my surroundings when I'm around female students! You often hear the horror stories of what some male teacher was charged with because he ****ed off the wrong, self-entitled teen age girl or whatever. Are there instances where it is true? Of course! Are there instances where the guy did absolutely nothing wrong? Of course! I just didn't want to ever find out from the "driver's" seat, so to speak!

Having two different genders who don't previously know each other in such a cramped space for an extended period of time just has to be an invitation to disaster in my opinion. embarrassed.gifsorry.gif

Really... this is where you folks want to take this forum? Why resurrect this thread? This is a trucking related forum, not a pop culture debate board. There are plenty of places discussing/to discuss which bathroom one should/should not be allowed to use... we don't TT to become another one.
