What was it they said....oh yeah...."an experienced driver always gets out and checks his clearances on blind sided backing", " every accident/incident is avoidable, DO NOT DRIVE INTO ONE!", "go slow, u can drive as slow as you want as many times as you want, you can only drive too fast once..."
Haha
I think that's everyday in training and first second and third day of any orientation/safety meeting....
Soooo, he just "drove" into the building? Or did he "back in," thinking it was the dock?

Looks like a quality built wall also! Looks like lots of interier reinforcement,
I didn't fail to notice that was a KB Hunt truck that did it. Way to show that wall who's boss. Now where's that like button at?
Assistant Fire Chief Mark Omasta told reporters, “He didn’t have the room to do what he wanted to.”
He had enough room to spin that thing around in circles like a ballerina! What a ridiculous blunder.
You might be a SUPER TRUCKER if...instead of waiting for a dock door, you create your own.

Totally agree. Also, they try to blame it on trailer swing but his tandems aren't that far forward? Was he dragging the trailer down the wall before turning or what ? Lol
A set of axles spaced close together, legally defined as more than 40 and less than 96 inches apart by the USDOT. Drivers tend to refer to the tandem axles on their trailer as just "tandems". You might hear a driver say, "I'm 400 pounds overweight on my tandems", referring to his trailer tandems, not his tractor tandems. Tractor tandems are generally just referred to as "drives" which is short for "drive axles".

Truck-Sized Hole In The Wall After Failed U-Turn Attempt
A semi truck crashed into a retail shoe store yesterday, ripping a large truck-sized hole in the outside wall of the building.
The incident occurred outside the DSW Shoe Warehouse at the Danbury Green shopping center in Danbury, Connecticut.
According to WTNH News-8, local police reported that the truck driver was attempting to make a U-turn when the back of his trailer smashed into the wall.
The truck driver was making a delivery at Staples, which is next door to the shoe store.
Assistant Fire Chief Mark Omasta told reporters, “He didn’t have the room to do what he wanted to.”
No one was injured in the crash. The DSW Shoe Warehouse was evacuated after the crash, be reopened several hours later.
