Yep! I passed the lift test (Old School - I lifted it exactly how you told me to. Between that and the two and a half weeks of intense workouts, the test was cake!) and completed orientation today. I have been so incredibly happy I can hardly contain myself! There aren't enough exclamation points and capital letters big enough to express my elation. This is such a blessing and I am so appreciative of all the pointers all of you have given me. I start training on Monday and I get to bring my 30th birthday in on a high note :)

This is one happy happy happy flatbed driver!

Oh! And cargo securement is so much fun! I love the math that goes into it and how thorough my company is with not only making sure it's done right but that it is also aesthetically pleasing. (Remind me I said this in 3 months... ;) )

Congratulations Sunshine! You've already shown you have the right attitude to be a good driver and a good flatbedder! Let us know how it goes.

Look at that. You did so good Bud said it twice. Congrats on passing and best of luck with all the adventures that are forthcoming

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Congrats, Sunshine! It's OK to get flustered every once in a while, but keep your eyes on the final goal and you can do it. Get your training diary going! 1436938790.1834.jpg

Little Sis - this is one post I have been anxiously looking for, I am really glad to see you in that hat! I knew you had this, but your silence had me concerned. Hold on tight girl - the time with a trainer can be tough, and your first three months solo can really be trying. Don't be afraid to jump in here and ask for advice, or just to vent a little rookie frustration. We've all been there, and we've all wanted to throw in the towel during that baptism of stress.

Really, really proud of you!
