I've historically been ... not great ... with punctuality. I imagine I would be far less-so across all U.S. time zones. I'll have to master this weakness and quick because my partner and I will be joining Prime for orientation at the beginning of February.
I apologize if this is much-discussed elsewhere. I did use the search bar but found mostly passing comments.
My Garmin GPS will show an ETA that is automatically adjusted for time zone differences. This usually gives me a good starting point for my actual ETA (since the GPS doesn't account for breaks and stuff).

Nice. And that's your own personal GPS?
My KW has a selection on the dashboard clock you show "Home" or "Local" time. So I drive to the dash clock. Elogs take care of themselves.
My problem is setting my alarm to get up. It's always adjusted to local. If I look at the Qualcomm to figure when my 10 hours is up, then set my alarm, I forget the difference and I'm already an hour late or early.
Electronic Logbook
A device which records the amount of time a vehicle has been driven. If the vehicle is not being driven, the operator will manually input whether or not he/she is on duty or not.

Yeah it's a Garmin Dezl I bought specifically for the truck. I tried the Rand McNally but couldn't stand the interface, to me it was like the difference between Mac and Windows. I'm a Mac guy.

This confirms my fear. There IS room for a major scew-up! I found an app for Android -- a business calendar -- that allows one to set appointment times WITH the time zone of that appointment. I found another app that allows one to quickly command the phone to check & sync it's time to the local cell towers. Problem is, I'm going to be driving team and will be crossing time zones in my sleep, unable to command this sync before my alarm goes off. My partner does not share this worry.

If you cannot trust your co driver to wake you up on time, and help you keep track of time zones, then how can you trust home to be a safe driver
My regular Android phone automatically switches timescas I cross time zones, so if I have an alarm set, it will always wake me up on time. I personally think you are over obsessing. Although, it is always better to be safe then sorry.
I live in central time zone, and just do all my calculations as central time. For instance, if I need to be somewhere in the eastern time zone at 0800, since EST is an hour ahead of me, I just mentally change that appt to 0700. I bought a battery-operated alarm clock so it never changes time zones on me.
I live and operate mostly in Central but make lots of trips across time zones. I've only had problems a few times.
1. Set your ETA factoring in any time zone changes.
2. Now you set your alarm based on local time and don't worry because you already set your ETA. Make sure you write your ETA down and include what time zone it is.
3. Take your road atlas and, using a highlighter, draw down each time zone line. That way, when you're referencing it, you'll be reminded.
Besides; hopefully you won't set your ETA's so tight you don't have a little grace time.

What are some smarphone apps or tried & true methods you've used to keep track of both local time for appointments and [home zone time, I guess] for logs?
