Not sure if this would improve your standing as a "real truck driving man", but have you tried a latte Old School? I don't mean a pumpkin spice or other adulteration of a latte, just steamed milk, and espresso.

At a truck stop?

Good job G-Town. Now, I've got another musical trivia question for you guys. Who was the once popular rock band who did a version of that song?

The lyric was written by Terry Fell in 1954 (way before my time).

New Riders of the Purple Sage is the answer to the rock question. Leon Russell also recorded a version of it.

Old School, you say she questioned your manhood, but she actually may have been challenging it! LoL

As for the song trivia question, my favorite version is the one by the king of bluegrass Jimmy Martin. I know the Outlaws did a cover of his Freeborn Man, but I'm not for certain who the rock band was who covered Truck Driving Man.

See, we may both be learning something here. I like just about everything that Leon Russell did, but I was unaware of the New Riders of the Purple Sage's version.

The group I had in mind was The J. Geils Band. They had a hopping little version of it on their "Blow Your Face Out" album (if you younger folks don't know about music on those big vinyl disks - you can now get that same "live" album on a CD)

Apparently there have been a lot of folks who have sung this little tune down through the years.

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Well Dutch, now you've got me thinking. Maybe I missed the whole point of that conversation!

Hmmmm...

Sure, well nearby at least, and in California, and close to Los Angeles... Okay, so maybe nowhere near a T/S in other places.

Petro Wheeler Ridge in Lebec California, it's just north of The Grapevine, has a Starbucks adjacent.

G-Town, I did find this when I googled "latte at truck stop". God have mercy on your soul if you listen to it, and you can't blame me if you do. It's not bad, it's just not good - needs more work(?).

Looky there, Kurt T, the man from Detroit, knew it was the J. Geils Band.
