Two signs before the bridge warning of "No Trucks" and "13'-0" Clearance".

A sign on the bridge warning of "Low Clearance".

A sign on the R/R Crossing warning of "13'-0" Clearance"

Results: A 13'-6" trailer looking like an opened sardine can!

I've only been out here six months and I'm already sick of this crap. Every time something like this happens it makes all of us look bad. The general public doesn't care about those of us who make the effort to pay attention and do our job right every time. Because of idiots like this and others who blatantly disregard the rules of the road on a daily basis, alot of people consider truck drivers some of the dumbest, rudest people on the planet. It just makes me sick.

That same line of thinking could be applied to many cultural issues facing our country right now... good point.

This is what you do:

** Let the 4 wheeler go first.

** On a long 2 lane road, pull over when you can to let 'em go past your slow truck.

** In those tight corners, where someone needs to back up so you can get around, pass out smiles and thank-you waves generously.

** Do the pull over thing for cars coming up the on-ramp.

** Years ago, truckers could be called Knights of the Road. Do your best to re-earn that title.

Don't sit around and complain. Lead by example.

Remember, your company's name is plastered on the side of the trailer. Let everybody see that your company, at least, has quality drivers.

Obviously those signs say "no straight trucks" and "You must be at least 13' 0".
