So we stopped at the Petroleum in Scranton PA and there are a large number of trucks parked nose-in. Is the trend starting, I wonder?
Kurt warned us it was coming!
I nosed in for a long time after Teddy's bumper got ripped off. Made me a little gunshy.
Some of it is exhausted drivers, some of it is people with loud reefers trying to be considerate, or people not wanting to listen to someone else's reefer!
It's ok by me as long as you trailer isn't hanging 6 feet beyond everyone else, making it difficult for others to park. And for heavens sake, if you are going to nose it, shut your trailer tails!
A refrigerated trailer.
Hehe, I meant Petro. Stupid auto-correct. And, yes, preview is my friend...
And I have learned to always shut the tails, Chickie. Too easy for them to get broken, otherwise.
Doesn't that make it difficult to get out? Backing out blindly? I'm not sure I could do that....

OH NOOO!!! Kurt what have you done?!

If you have space behind you to back straight out, (means you pretty much drove straight in) then pull forward to turn and get away, it's not so bad. But when you drive straight in, and your tractor-trailer bend changes, you may be in trouble getting to back out.

Yep...not going to try this. I have enough issues getting out sometimes when I BACK into a spot. LOL
I've never done it, but I almost think it would have been easier tonight. My brain just shut down 2 hours earlier than I was planning to stop tonight. I tried to press on but couldn't so I pulled in at the first truck stop. There was this huge spot with my name on it--should've been an easy back but it took me several pullups and GOALs. I completely understand why someone would nose in and deal with backing out in the morning when they're fresh.
If I can't pull straight through, I back in. I like the opportunity to practice backing.
