You're lucky...140 is the true green zone, not 149. I think you got a free pass.

Yeah, here's all kinds of information about the blood pressure requirements for the DOT physical:

Blood Pressure Requirements For The DOT Physical

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) Guidelines & Advice

You'll have to be under 140 on the high side or you'll need medications to get you there.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Hypertension:

Abnormally high blood pressure.

Yup, what they said ^^^ 149 is still too high.

You're very close though. Take several minutes of deep breathing and meditation before your next try. You may see a huge difference. Also, with all the water drinking, go to the bathroom just before the test too lol. It'll help I'm told

Patrick it's 140/90...not BS, no confusion, fact.

I don't know you but hypertension can be positively affected by exercise (even 20 minutes of walking every other day is good), lowering your weight, if you smoke avoid it before they take your pressure (constricts blood vessels), reducing salt/sodium intake (learn the foods with a high sodium level, ex: cheese) avoiding processed/fast foods, eat foods higher in potassium (fruit and vegetables), reduce simple sugar intake, getting adequate rest, caffeine reduction...

The combined result of all of these things can have a positive effect on your readings. It unfortunately will not happen overnight.

  • Enter program, study and test for Missouri CDL permit.
  • Start driving/training at Prime Training Center in Springfield, Missouri.

Turtle in your post you passed with 184/84? I think it said so now im confused lol

Yup, that was a misprint on my part. It should have read 134/84.

Don't stress too much over it. That'll raise your pressure too. Remember, they allowed me to lay down for 15 minutes or so to relax, and it was fine. You'll be fine too. Watch your diet and exercise.
