I'd say its more an issue of rail yard thugs defacing property.
I write "TRUMP" on the back of all mine!
Just kidding. LOL. But I have seen a lot of those. In those cases I would think it's the driver since we're pretty much the only ones who mess with the doors (besides yard dogs, and they don't usually mess with the doors any more than they have to). But who knows, it could be random people doing it.
Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure most of the time it's a prank the driver doesn't know about. For those who aren't sure what he's talking about, people like to take their finger and write messages in the road grime that covers the back of the trailers, especially in the winter. So it's not uncommon to drive down the road and read some pretty funny stuff on the back of trailers, like "My drawers are this dirty too!" or "Dolphins Make Good Eatin!" or some other oddball stuff.

Those are a lot funnier than the standard "WASH ME" or "Kilroy was here!"
Lol Brett those are pretty good. I can't count how many political tags I saw during the election, as well as crude drawings. No pretrip maybe?

You Pre Trip your Trailers?
Hahaha. I was assuming actual spray painted graffiti on trailers. I spend too much time in Chicago, obviously :-)

That's what I was thinking too. I've seen boxes parked in Miami, in neighborhoods where there are "ar-teests", that leave with a mural that may not be to the owners liking.
Writing "wash me" or similar, well, washes off...

Ah yes......Rattle Can Art, or Urban Art! We would hate to call such things (read Crimes), by their proper names in this day and age of Polital Correctness. I believe Destruction of Private/ Public property is the actual description of such acts!

Just a quick question to you guys and gals pulling boxes. Do you use your trailer as a free billboard to send messages to the public or are you being vandalized and not knowing it? I've seen some ummm... interesting things on the back of dirty trailers and can't tell if it's the drivers work or some jerk at a truck stop.
