a trucker dating website might be nice...but lets be fair...it would be vastly over run by men, and who gonna pay for that site anyways!

Something funny about truckers...they remind me of the lesbian show the L Word. The show used to talk about lesbians "U haling"..meaning as soon as they met, they'd move in together.

Guys in general are fearful of commitment, but truckers...they ask women to team before they even know their name!!!

No lie...at least once a month a guy approaches me in a truck stop and says " are you looking to team? I could really use a co driver". Uh.. .no dude I'm not moving in with you. You haven't even showered in three days.

And don't crush my ego now and tell me those guys ask everyone. It makes me feel special... A little creeped out...but special. Lol

One guy parked next to me asked me to dinner...I went but insisted on paying my bill. We exchanged numbers and on the SECOND phone call he asked if I would team and marry him. He must have been smoking something. My life would be much different if I would just say with and do it....but different isn't always better.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

OMG! You guys are nuts! ROFLMFAO!

Back to the original post:

If you want to stay OTR then I would recommend against a relationship starting out.

The stress of driving a truck and then adding the stress of a relationship sounds like a nuclear bomb assembly plant.

It doesn't take long to get a local or regional job in my experience. I have just under 2 years experience and have a job where I'm home every night, off on weekends and holidays.

Just be mindful of the other persons feelings about you being gone all the time... it takes a toll.

Regional:

Regional Route

Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

You guys are behind the curve! Just Google "trucker dating site" for example, and there's over three pages of unique addresses to hook up. Pretty sure most or all are M/F by the looks of things....not that I looked, of course.
