$3.75 million worth of car engines stolen from factory

A brazen band of robbers drove a semi onto the grounds of Jaguar Land Rover’s factory in Solihull, U.K, late Tuesday night and made off with $3.75 million worth of car engines. ...

That will only fit in Jags.

Try fencing those.

Not like you broke into the GM factory and stole $4 mil worth of LS7 motors.

I'd really hate to have a pickup there any time in the near future.

Wow. Twice in one night?! It says they "grabbed the paperwork needed to make them look legitimate." Was the paperwork already on the trailer? Or if they had to get the bills from inside, how did they prove it was a valid pickup? Usually you have to have a pickup number for the shipper to release the bills.

Sounds like they've been to the shipper before and knew the procedure already. And it's a gross understatement to say the shipper has some glaring holes in the security of their pick up process if it was that easy.

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Based on tv shows i've seen, somewhere in an alley in London a guy's selling jag engines out of the back of a van.
