hello everyone long time no see. I haven't gotten an in-cab signal from my free pass in a couple days now however it still pays tolls. Has anyone run into this before I'm thinking it might be batteries.

Pre pass and Ez pass are two different boxes. EZ pass pays the tolls. Prepass does the weigh stations.

If mine stopped working I would be calling my permit department about getting another. or at least citations deoartment to find out if I was getting fined for it.

Keep in mind many weigh stations are closed on the weekends and may not activate the pre pass.

When you go by a station that is open, it just doesn't beep at all?

I couldn't find anything on Google that was a clear answer so I figured I'd ask the experts.. thanks in advance!

In some cases they are the same box. My peeps prepass and ezpass are the same box. I went through a period of time where mine didn't work on the prepass pay. There were some issues with the activation, but the company eventually got it straightened out

Thanks didn't known that

The finance thing makes sense anyway. It's a monthly service so not being activated makes sense.

Silly question but - have you tried replacing the batteries?

Weird. Yeah, try replacing the batteries. Sometimes weigh stations won't give you a green or red light (when that happens, always pull in), but I've never had it happen for every weigh station for a few days in a row.

Regardless, I'd have permits give me a new one. That's something you really need to have working properly.

My pre pass and ez pass are the same unit. some states do not participate in the prepass, so my company policy is no light/signal, and the way station is ope, we have to pull in.... If we get conflicting messages (green light on pre pass, pull into way station {or vice versa}, pull in, if we are in doubt on if we have to pull in, then we are supposed to pull in... nothing more than an inconvenience and a few minutes...

Better to be safe and go through than get a fine.... lol....
