Today because of road closers I had to take a backroad. I ran thru Polaski, WI. I seen the best idea EVER there. It is so simple it is pure genius!!!

Check this out. For truck routes in town the street sign is YELLOW. If it is a green street sign no trucks. Plus the yellow street signs at major intersections have little arrows on the sign pointing which directions are truck routes.

How genius is that? It should be a federally mandated law. Any city, town, village, etc... should be this way. No more guessing what is or isn't a truck route. No more signs halfway down a block that says no trucks.

Great idea. Just one problem

I live in awful CA, and this state is too broke to afford any street signs. And I'm sorry, I am not willing to take on yet another tax to pay for something like they just did by significantly increasing our gas taxes.

Gosh, I hate this state so much...

That is a great idea but some of these towns depend on traffic fines to pad their budgets.

(Daniel B; just wait until Cali loses its Federal funding) Some of those "students" might have to actually get jobs to buy their black masks and riot supplies...

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Daniel, you are a professional truck driver. It is not like your job can't go where you do. Simplest explanation. Get a big map of the lower 48. Grab a dart and a blindfold. Have significant other point you in right direction and throw.

You do know every major city needs people to bring them gas. Heck every Loves has its very own Tanker TRLR and Day cab. With your experience I am sure you can still be the gas man. Unless you work for a small outfit, they probably operate within a larger region. Why hate the place you call home? I am sure you have seen many places you thought, I would love to live there.

Day Cab:

A tractor which does not have a sleeper berth attached to it. Normally used for local routes where drivers go home every night.

HOME- the place you never wana stay but always want to go back to.

The sign thing is brilliant. It actually makes one believe they are a town that doesn't have the Same negative view on truck drivers.

Just before you go into town there is a little white/black street sign that says "truck routes marked with yellow road signs." It doesn't really click until you see the signs with the name of the streets are bright Yellow with black writing. The non truck streets are green with white writing. Makes the truck routes stick out like a sore thumb. No guesswork needed. Just follow the bright yellow signs. "Follow the yellow brick road". Heehee.

With 5 years accident free experience total along with tanker and hazmat experience I am confident I can get any job I want in any state I want. We are still here because this is where family is, both mine and the wifes. Now if something significant happens then we can fully justify running away (please secede!) but so far not enough reason. Really dont want to be away from family and friends and at my age its really difficult to find and make friends. But such is life!

HAZMAT:

Hazardous Materials

Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations

Day Cab:

A tractor which does not have a sleeper berth attached to it. Normally used for local routes where drivers go home every night.

I just never had that overall need for family. I am weird I guess. I can understand that. A lot of people put stock in being close to family. Maybe you will get lucky and California starts breaking away to slowly sink into the Pacific. Then I can finally get ocean front property in Arizona, lol.

Moonbeam Brown, did that to cover the shortfalls in the state employee pension program. Robbing Peter to pay Paul. None of it is going to infrastructure improvements.

People and business are fleeing Cali in DROVES, yet they still see themselves as the "Shining Example" for other states to follow.

Smoking too much of that legal weed methinks.
