Thank you.
Thoughts and prayers for you and your family, I am glad you made it home.
Thank you Patrick.
I'm sorry to hear this. My prayers are for you and your family.
Most carriers will do what it takes to get a driver home in this situation. It's bad enough that you may be across the country when there's an unexpected tragedy at home. A year ago my wife passed away (in the hospital for a stroke). I was was waiting to pick up a load in Ft. Smith,, AR, when I got the news. My DM told me to immediately bobtail straight back to Memphis - under dispatch. Then I was off duty as long as I needed to be home.
My heart goes out to you, Big Scott.
"Bobtailing" means you are driving a tractor without a trailer attached.

On Sunday 8-13-17 my brother called me to tell me my father fell and had a seizure in the ambulance. Later that night around 1 am I got a call that he wasn't going to make it. On Monday he was gone.
Sunday night when I called CFI, I was immediately given the option of a load close to Long Island or they would advance me the money for a plane ticket. I chose to drive. Things worked out in my favor and I was allowed to bobtail to my brother's house. The funeral Is Thursday and I will be here until at least Monday. To say the least I'm a basket case.
