Taylor Swift Saw Me....😜

Apropos of absolutely nothing.....

We were refueling in Rock Springs, Wyoming last week in the wee hours of the morning, headed east to Illinois on I-80. Sitting beside me in the fuel lanes were three identical, highly customized and highly polished red, long-nose Petes. Each was dragging a shiny trailer emblazoned with the Taylor Swift Tour logos and pictures. They appeared to almost be synchronized fueling, windshield cleaning etc.....almost like the Red Arrows or Blue Angels flight display teams....the drivers all wore identical workwear and were almost in lock step as they completed their various tasks. It was quite entertaining! lol

Anyway, parked in the no-parking area, right next to the building was the Taylor Swift tour bus...all blacked out windows and privacy curtains etc. From the front, as we walked by on the way into the building for coffee etc., we could clearly see into the interior via the huge windshield. The front of the bus had typical stacked tour bus bunk beds and towards the rear a closed off doorway to what was presumably the Star's private area. The bus had several large gentleman hovering nearby keeping a wary eye on all us 'non-celeb' ordinary humans, especially the obviously slightly disreputable looking bunch easily identified as 'truckers'. lol Several folks wandered towards the bus and were politely turned away.

Although obviously aware of whom she is, I'm not a huge fan. And; courtesy of my background, having flown, chatted with and even socialized with numerous celebrities over the years, I'm not particularly inclined to be 'star-struck'. So, other than commenting to Chris that the trucks would look pretty cool rolling down the highway in convoy.....I didn't really give it any more thought. Chris posted some pics on FB but that was about the end of it.

Having tanked up on coffee, we left, headed east on I-80 and after a few minutes Chris went to bed. About an hour later, around 3 am, the 3 Pete's rolled past me like I was standing still.... nose to tail in convoy...looking pretty cool, i must say....multitudes of chicken lights and much shiny chrome! Approximately 10 mins later...on the basically deserted highway, I saw lights approaching in the mirror and watched as the tour bus began to pass me. It was only marginally faster than me, so the process took a minute or two. As it drew level with my door, I saw that all the lights in the rear compartment were blazing away and there was a clear view of the inside of the Star's suite.....

Now, I dont believe that I would actually know Taylor Swift if she were to walk up and kick me in the butt....but; there were 3 young blonde ladies.... presumably TS amongst them...all kneeling on what I assume was a couch at the side of the bus...they were waving and making the universally accepted 'blow the air horn' signal!! Lol Just like kids on a school bus!! 😜

So anyway, I waved back and obliged with the airhorn... giving them a rendition of 'two bits and a haircut...toot toot!' They all laughed and waved again as the bus drew away into the night.

So there you have it...

Taylor Swift saw me in Wyoming....

Obviously, I don't know for sure, but I imagine she still has that nice warm, fuzzy afterglow feeling......even now, a week or so later. How could she not?

The NASCAR convey is also quite a site. I saw a dozen or so blasting south on I-81 last Saturday afternoon near exit 100 in PA. Not a follower, so not sure where they were coming from or going to. There is a track in Nazareth though, off I-78 just west of Jousey.

The NASCAR trucks were heading from Pocono Pennsylvania back to Charlotte G-town. Most of the teams are based in Charlotte. I always get a little giddy when I see those haulers haha

Saw Lee Greenwood’s Tour bus fueling at a pilot north of Birmingham a few weeks ago. Thought that was cool, but you guys got me beat.

I laughed about the shave and a haircut. That is what I do when I flash my marker lights in a thank you. I started doing it from the beginning. I used to be a barber, so it fits.
