Good to know!

Glad I played it safe that day, I did have to cross a couple scales through FL.

Thats crazy...is there a book out there that has the info about the different laws and requirements of weight distribution per state? Or is there a site that would make this info readily available?

Yes sir! It's all in the Rand McNally Motor Carriers Atlas. You can purchase it at just about any truck stop, or from the Rand McNally website. I'm sure Amazon has it also.

But as Turtle pointed out, your vehicle must be rated for the weight. Just because Florida allows 44k on an axle or Idaho allows 105.5k gross doesn't means your vehicle is legal to do it.

Thank you guys for the quick response. I for sure need to pick one of these up prior to starting school.

Marty, it's likely your trainer has one, I would wait until you upgrade to solo before getting one. Plus by then the 2018 maps might be starting to go on sale

I just got the 2019 deluxe version for $45 on Amazon. The regular one was about half that, but I think it is just maps.
