Got my mentor! Maybe someone knows him? He goes by "LV"

Well he called me today at 2pm (pacific time), he was in Utah and heading for Lathrop, Ca. hopefully by Sunday he said. It was snowing when he called. It has been a long wait because of the holidays. So he only does a dedicated account triangle. So. Cal to Utah to Lathrop. I think that was what he said. I'll find out on Sunday, weather permitting. I'm going into this with an open mind to it.

Yes it is. Orientation was 12/10-12/14. I'm going to try to keep a diary of the adventures.

Wow you were up at "0-Dark 30"! I think I remember that you ran at night for OD. At least you miss all that traffic.

Happy trails, Bobcat

Yup, I just got home 400 miles in about 8.5 hours. Had the weather been better I could have made it home without my break had the weather been better.

Well I'm going to see what it's all about in less than 48 hours from now. A lot of my friends think I'm crazy for going out in the winter. But as Susan once told me to get out there when I have a mentor, then I can see with eyes of a trainer that has been doing it then trying to figure it out on my own.

So thanks Susan for the advice.

Bobcat-

If your tractor had wings, you would have gotten home sooner also. HeHeHe

You will definitely get into some interesting weather running that route. It sounds great - I'm very glad you're getting started!

Winter is a good time to learn imo, you will have another set of experienced eyes with you for what can be some of the hardest driving. If you can survive winter you will have no problem when it is warmer.

Old School-

It will be interesting for sure.

On a side note: I have a friend of mine (not a trucker) but he and his wife are thinking of settling in Nocog******s. He mentioned where they have finally settled on. They have been going about it for two years now that both are retired.. They had West Texas and then South Texas. When he said it I was thinking of you. I told him that a moderator on TT lives there. And the world is getting smaller.

Michael S.-

Thanks for the well wishes.

JoAnne-

Thanks I will keep everyone in the loop. I plan on doing a diary of the road trips.

Bobcat-

You said it. But if I can survive winter in Korea, I can survive this adventure.
