So I am now in week 2 of phase 1. My trainer had a dedicated route. This means ohio to arizona back to ohio then to Virginia then back to ohio and reset. I'm getting lots of drive time,10-11 hours a day. Learning how to adjust tandems and fifth wheel. Not loving sitting in a truck stop every weekend but such is life. Not getting much backing practice yet but he promises we will.

Dedicated Route:

A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."

Tandems:

Tandem Axles

A set of axles spaced close together, legally defined as more than 40 and less than 96 inches apart by the USDOT. Drivers tend to refer to the tandem axles on their trailer as just "tandems". You might hear a driver say, "I'm 400 pounds overweight on my tandems", referring to his trailer tandems, not his tractor tandems. Tractor tandems are generally just referred to as "drives" which is short for "drive axles".

Lol. They actually had to have the police remove her. They gave her a bus ticket home and she refused to leave

Great news. Congratulations! I'm assuming your original roomie is long gone by now, doubt she made it past the UA!

Why did she get kicked out? Bad training or alcohol violation?

Alcohol violations. They found a case of water bottles filled with vodka!
