What about WalMart? They advertise great pay and they're begging for 900 drivers right now. Just a thought.

I'm pretty sure their private fleet requires 30 months of safe driving before being eligible for hire.

You do bring up an excellent point I overlooked!

If you have any LTL companies near you in would look into that I made 75k last year in my first full year running linehaul. We have many drivers over 100k plus you would be home probably every night have have 2 days off a week.

LTL:

Less Than Truckload

Refers to carriers that make a lot of smaller pickups and deliveries for multiple customers as opposed to hauling one big load of freight for one customer. This type of hauling is normally done by companies with terminals scattered throughout the country where freight is sorted before being moved on to its destination.

LTL carriers include:

  • FedEx Freight
  • Con-way
  • YRC Freight
  • UPS
  • Old Dominion
  • Estes
  • Yellow-Roadway
  • ABF Freight
  • R+L Carrier

Linehaul:

Linehaul drivers will normally run loads from terminal to terminal for LTL (Less than Truckload) companies.

LTL (Less Than Truckload) carriers will have Linehaul drivers and P&D drivers. The P&D drivers will deliver loads locally from the terminal and pick up loads returning them to the terminal. Linehaul drivers will then run truckloads from terminal to terminal.

Lots of good suggestions on here guys. This forum always has an answer! I'll keep checking back on this thread to see what old school has to suggest. This forum is awesome. Way better than the "other" truckers forum. That place is annoying. Kudos to the Creator and def all the mods.

I'm going to email you my phone number in a little bit. I actually need to talk with you about this possibility. I'm finished driving for the day, so you can call me when it's convenient for you.
