Had a few close calls. Closes was Danielsahn during that polar vortex at a Loves but it was 2 in the morning. Jamie delivered to a customer that was a bldg over from where I was. Was going to meet Grumpy last week but had a breakdown. Missed Bobcat by a few minutes. Packrat has been close and Susan is always kinda of close to my lanes as well.

Dang old school! I've seen you've been in Pella Iowa a couple times over the last couple weeks. I'm out there delivering today and seen a Sapa flatbed and thought it's my lucky day! Nope. You're 1000 miles away. =(

Yes sir! I've been "on the move." We do have a new customer who is warehousing a lot of materials at a distribution center in Pella, IA. So, you'll be seeing a few SAPA trucks in your area. I'm not sure how often I'll be there but I definitely got the call a few times during that polar vortex.

I parked legally at the Beckley, WV service plaza. Got up the next morning, and several were parked illegally along the curb. You know, where all the signs state, "No Parking". 3 day cabs. Had to wait 2.5 hours for them to return for work and move. Using the service plaza as their personal terminal. Called the state police plaza authority, but they never showed up. Luckily for the guilty parties, there were lots of witnesses, or their trucks would have been out of service for awhile. I hate idiots in parking lots that can't follow the rules and screw over those of us that will.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Day Cab:

A tractor which does not have a sleeper berth attached to it. Normally used for local routes where drivers go home every night.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Please let me know if you are ever up around the Cedar Rapids area. Hopefully I will be on hometime then and we can chill while ya do a reset. If so then I will buy ya dinner at 16th AV Grill. That’s some of the best food in Cedar Rapids.

I don't make it to CR much but I'll keep it in mind. Unfortunately I don't find out until about 3pm where I'll be headed for next day typically around midnight. I'm also on my way back to des Moines usually by 7am
