Sleep is a critical need for drivers. So a good mattress is important. When I got my truck, it came with a mattress in a cleanable nylon type cover, and it was clean when I got it. But I didn't know that mattresses could have speed bumps in them. However, Freightliner figured out a way to do it.

So I bought a mattress topper for it and I've been test sleeping on it for two weeks. (I'm doing it so you don't have to). What a world of difference it has made. I just wanted to pass this info on to anyone who wants a great, economical mattress topper.

I got it on Amazon and it is: "Lucid 3" lavender infused memory foam mattress topper, ventilated design. Twin XL size. It cost $62.21. I tried to get a product # for this but couldn't find one, but anybody should be able to find the product based on the info I listed. I can highly recommend this topper and say it totally neutralized the Freightliner factory installed speed bumps.

That sounds great! I think Rainy has a custom mattress of some sort. Satin covered, down filled, with heat and cold controls, a massage function and a wet bar too! Lol

Yeah I know she has mentioned that mattress. I think she also spent big bucks on it. Those of us with more modest means need something more economical. sorry.gif

I bought a very nice gel infused memory foam topper at Walmart for about. $70. My old 2016 had a wonderful mattress, but the one in my 2019 when it arrived from the dealer had the most horrible mattress in it. Definitely had speed bumps. The 3" topper fixed it and it's awesome now. I highly recommend adding a good topper for your mattress or upgrading to a luxury mattress as well.

Restful sleep is non negotiable out here.

This can’t go on much longer before Rainy weighs in with some classic comment about her mattress and it may have features we have never heard about.good-luck-2.gif

i cant stand memory foam. my first truck had memory foam that on one side was firm (they said it was plush) and the other side was firmer.

i swear it was sleeping on a rock you sink into. i tried the toppers but i assault stupid people in my dreams and wrestled them off. hence the mattress. i have a new one on order... lol

Rainy, just curious. What cost more, your new truck or your new mattress?

When I got my truck it had a nylon covered slab of foam for a mattress. It was used. I asked them to put a new one in and it is a two sided mattress with springs. I love it.

A word about memory foam, it freezes. A friend of mine has one. After it sat for several days while visiting family for a few days in cold Colorado, he got a surprise. He returns to his cold truck, starts it and falls into his memory foam bed, thud. It was frozen solid.
