Saw a video couple days ago cr England truck went through the gas island overhead opened his trailer like a can opener. It’s not the company, it’s the driver that makes mistakes. None of us are beyond making mistakes.

Donna points out...

None of us are beyond making mistakes.(like this)

I’d like to redirect that statement and suggest:

None of us are beyond preventing mistakes like this.

That’s where the focus needs to be and is consistent to most of the advice offered by the experienced drivers in this forum.

Don’t be that guy or gal who made these mistskes; both could have been easily prevented.

Focus and strive on prevention and preparation to significantly reduce the risk of mistakes like this and less on acceptance they are inevitable.

Emphasis on prevention.

Gtown I hope you didn't take what I said wrong about the big Swift on the side of the trailer. Had it been a blank trailer chances are it never would have gone viral. There are people that want to pick on Swift it's obvious on YouTube. There are thousands of crashes and accidents every year, I have a feeling the people that put out these videos knocking Swift either got fired from there or know somebody that did.

Likewise... I meant no offense. I hate to see any such videos... regardless of who's name is on the equipment. It's just that the irony is inevitable.

Probably the worst I have seen was "On The Road Of Life There Are No Shortcuts" wedged under a low bridge!

It looked like the truck may have turned left onto the road with the bridge which was just on the other side of the intersection. Looked pretty easy to get wrong!

Thinking trip planning was most of it... sign awareness much of the rest.

Swifts the biggest company so it stands to reason they'll have the most incidents. Its not fair the bad rep they get in my eyes and drivers definitely hate on them from my short time out here and what Ive heard. I get why Gtown might be defensive im sure he hears out there more than we do.

Agreed! And I misread G-Town's response.

"Rookie Mistake" seemed to be the gist of it!

Not offended guys...really. I live it. I know.

I had some knucklehead from Kinard blow his air horn when I was backing to drop an empty at a backhaul vendor. Ignored him and did my job...

The gist of my response is to rise above the obvious preventables that can shorten a career.

All good.
