Thursday I had a GEN TRANS FLT error message as I was trying to get underway after finishing my 30 minute break . I couldn't get into gear. Our road rescue sent me a reset procedure that fixed the issue and told me to let them know if it happened again. Has any one ever had this happen while they were moving?

I’ve had error codes, flashing lights, and error messages. All of these turned out to be nothing. All I ever done is shut down, turn the key off for up to 15 minutes, then resume travel again. Sometimes these come back, but usually not. This has happened to me in at least three different trucks, and all were Kenworth’s with the automated manual transmission. I’ve never had any fault codes with the manual Eaton/Fuller 10 or 13 speeds.

Y'all can drive my 2017 Pete manual. It randomly decides to not power any of the dash lights on startup. Imagine trying to drive at night and you can't see your speed, rpm or any of the gauges. Aand heres the kicker. In order to reset the truck so it powers on you have to open both doors for 15 seconds. rofl-1.gifrofl-2.gifrofl-3.gif

YES!!!! It is the clutch actuary not engaging and it needs to be replaced and given a congruent software software update.

Rainy, yep. 2017 International with the Allison. I can deal with resetting the trans I just don't want it to decide it doesn't want to be in gear while I'm driving.

Every once in a while my 19 does the same thing. It has never done it while driving though. However a few times it got stuck in "coasting" mode while driving.

Yeah but after a few times, mine just died and wouldnt shift. had to get towed to dealer. luckily i was at the terminal. ;)

be careful. the 2017 sucks and even the dealer knows it. i kept mine 5 months and was in the shop for 2 of those. then i threw it back at them lol

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Fortunately it either happens when I turn the key to the on position or it doesnt. So I can always fix it before driving, however the first time it happened to me was at night time on the weekend when my company doesn't staff r/a on nights or weekends. I had to do my own research to get it solved, which I suppose I should be thankful for Google and the internet.
