I don’t know if you can park a bobtail at Va. Beach, but it’s a great beach. The “boardwalk” is a few miles long with a bike path along side. Great eats too!
I hope you get a chance to enjoy it.
Chick’s beach is more secluded, but not as much to do right on the water. We used to go there when we lived there, but you kinda gotta know where you’re going. However, if you find a great watering hole in an online search AND at Chick’s beach, you could just have Uber take you there and spend the day there.
Good luck!

No beach parking near the strip, but check out parking at the Kroger on Holland Road. From there, take an Uber ride to the beach.
If I were still home in VB, I'd give you a lift.
Try the VA beach convention center...you'll have to walk a few blocks to the boardwalk but along the way some cool restaurants.
Thanks for the suggestions, I checked uber rates and it's only about $35 difference from here or from a parking place like Kroger. If I can catch an uber or Lyft its probably easier than taking the truck on PC. I just talked to a local here in Suffolk and she gave me some good tips about where to go on the beach. Checking last night and so far this morning uber hasn't had an available driver though. Hmmmm. PackRat, it's the thought that counts and I appreciate it. Hopefully I'll find my ride and be awash in beautiful women in little bikinis in no time.
I think this suggestion may be too late, but from Suffolk, Buckroe Beach may be your best bet. Take 664 to get near there.
Sadly I never made it. I guess all the uber drivers were enjoying the weekend. It was about 2pm before they showed an available car which would put me getting there about 3pm. Enterprise was closed. I figured if I got there and couldn't get an uber back I would be stuck so I just chilled at the pilot. :-(

The problem with Buckroe is that the Health Department frequently shuts it down for swimming due to high levels of bacteria in the water there.
Quietest beach in the area is at the far, southern end of Sandbridge in VB.
Reservists, Guard, and retired military can go to Fort Story or Dam Neck to get away from the civilians.
Sorry I couldn't help you this time, Michael!

Hey all, I'm bobtail in Suffolf Va for a 34. Thinking about hitting a beach tomorrow (sunday) anyone know of a good close beach or just hit Virginia Beach? VB is a 45-70 buck uber ride. I looked today but they had no cars available. You think I could drive bobtail to a beach? (I know, funny right) any and all suggestions welcome.
