So I've always wanted a small snake. And then I started this job. I've done my research for months... And yess I think I can have a snake with me in the truck! What do you guys think?

That's a different kind of pet. If your company will allow it, why not? But will you be able to keep one at a healthy temperature? Heating (and cooling) your snakes enclosure may not be possible. Then again, I'm not sure of your power requirements, nor what you have available in your truck.

Definitely a different sort of pet, but even less loving than a cat.

I have seen all kind of pets out here over the years. From ****atoo To rats. Most all were O/O trucks. The snake would have to be approved by your company. I much prefer my dog.

I've owned a few snakes in the past. Years ago.

First of all, make sure you company approves it.

Secondly, it's going to stink somewhat. Snake poop is awful.

Another concern is temperature. It won't be a big deal when you're with the truck and you can either idle to keep it warm or have a heat lamp on. But what if you're going to be in a hotel for three days because the truck broke down? You're going to have to sneak that snake into the hotel somehow and it's going to need a cage and all that. That's not going to be easy.

I think it's doable, but I think it might be a pretty big pain in the neck sometimes.

OK...so my mind works a little different than others...and I don't like reptiles..so just go with this.....

Your truck breaks down, your waiting for the service truck...your snake gets cold...what do you do ??? You put him in your arm pit...the repair guy comes...he's standing on the steps, talking to you thru the window...the snake sticks his head out...the repair guy sees itshocked.png ..he falls off the steps, and hits his head.sorry.gif You call the ambulance...they come for the repair guy....your talking to the EMT about the repair guy...the snake sticks his head out...the EMT has a coronary.wtf.gif ..Another ambulance is called.....embarrassed.gif

You can see where i"m goin' with this....rofl-3.gif

Hate to inform ya but snake food is live. Have to have a place to store live mic or rats depending on the snakes size. Snake ,or at least most snakes, will not touch something that is already dead.

Oh come on don't get grossed out. It's really not different than saying "Animals poop outside" just a fact of life.

It ain't about girly....I live in snake country, and have for to many years. I have a rule; Less than 2 legs, or more than 4 (sometimes I have to count the tail).....and I kill it.....that rule keeps all the ugly bitey critters away from me.... And snakes are basically useless in the realm of things...they eat close to nothing for long periods of time...and in that time, they coudl bite me, or scare the crap outta me...so I kill 'em....all of them....
