One of my favorite HD shops is up there, with street parking.
Sorry you continue to have fifth wheel issues, Jamie.
Do you have any photos of your fifth wheel?

I do not sadly, but the latch is split down the middle, which I found odd and very unusual since these things are tough.
I would take a picture but I just took a shower, got very dirty trying to check on it.
My hands, after I tried to wash them with water before making it to the truck stop.
Fifth wheel grease is the worst! Don't get it on your clothes or in your hair.
Better days tomorrow.
Any update today, Jamie?
Its unfortunate you dealt with something unexpected but you know what would really make your day suck? Losing your trailer on the highway because you said F it. Great job Jamie, hopefully it gets resolved quickly
Mentioned this to my dad he said in his 30 years of working on trucks he's never seen that, and assumed it was a manufacturing defect.

So I was set to finish this week off with 3000+ miles for the week, which is great considering my recent miles I've been running due to stress in my personal life. But while I was getting ready to drop my loaded trailer at this walmart store to pickup an empty trailer to head back to the DC in the morning, I noticed my 5th wheel would not trigger the latch, even though I tried multiple times, so I pulled forward and got out to inspect my 5th wheel...
That's when I noticed that my 5th wheel latch was cracked down the middle off it splitting it into two parts. So I called the DC to see what they wanted me to do, they had me call breakdown to get service setup near by instead of bobtailing back to the DC (nearly 500 miles) since Walmart doesn't allow that.
So I'm currently in Watertown, South Dakota until the morning when I'll bobtail to Sioux Falls to the dealer there to get my truck checked out. So instead of my 3000+ mile week, it'll be a 2100 mile week. But I'm glad I seen the problem, instead of it breaking or coming loose going down the road. since we go down some terrible roads on US83 and US183 in NE and SD.
Bobtail:
"Bobtailing" means you are driving a tractor without a trailer attached.
OOS:
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
