But this time an interesting glitch appeared instead-- rather than my comment appearing in Preview, I was honored to see Rob T's recent hefty thread-starter post on "Slip-Seating" in MY Preview window.

This is what I mentioned earlier. I couldn't get it to do it again despite trying multiple times in different threads. Possibly it only happens depending on the timing of when someone else posts or previews?

It should never happen, no matter what. I'm still somewhat baffled by it. I have some theories, but I'm not sure. Let me know if you see anything like that again.

Baffle:

A partition or separator within a liquid tank, used to inhibit the flow of fluids within the tank. During acceleration, turning, and braking, a large liquid-filled tank may produce unexpected forces on the vehicle due to the inertia of liquids.

What's really odd is seeing you post!

Welcome back!

Hey there PackRat! Yes, I've never been vey itchy with the posting "trigger finger" but I have always been around more often than not. I guess I'm a bit of a lurker, so I try to check in from time to time to see what's going on. I also took a bit of a break from the truck this year so that I could concentrate on some college classes that I've been working on. I suppose I could start another thread to talk a bit about my 2020 "adventures" which included a few months of pulling 60k to 80k lb. Mardi Gras floats through Universal Studios in Orlando. I'm pretty certain I would not have gotten that gig if I didn't have my CDL and some large vehicle experience. Anyway, it is good to be back and have folks remember me! It's a nice feeling. :)

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

HOLY WOW, CHARLIE BROWN!

Yessir!

(on a ps: note . . . Login expires in .. oh, maybe 30 minutes, instead of the .. maybe usual 2 hours?!?!?)

Arejay doesn't even KNOW me.. I was a lurker (NOT a Doxxer!) back in the day, LoL!

Hi Anne! To be honest... I'm more of a Snoopy guy rather than Charley Brown. LOL I've actually read a ton of your posts so maybe I know you a bit better than you know? muahahaha.... anyway, silly question, what is a "Doxxer"? Am I missing something there?

Haya again, Arejay .... Snoopy, hahaha! <<<<< in that case, you should 'know' what a doxxer is, LoL! Here ya go, out of 'urban dictionary' (and don't feel bad; I had to educate Brett and Laura on this also:)

"Most doxxers are internet trolls who reside in their parent's basement and have nothing better to do in life than to publish someone's personal information online. They will usually try their best to mask their real IP by using paid VPN services, such as NordVPN or ExpressVPN. Doxxing is common among uneducated individuals who believe that such an unreasonable activity follows moral standards or makes them look impressive in front of their friends, when in reality they do not realize the mess they are getting the victim and themselves into. Doxxers are a major nuisance and need to be permanently banned from accessing the internet."

The 'real' doxxer on TT would be Todd Holmes, aka: TomCougar aka: Purple PITA, etc . . LOL!

Btw: that link you included was some YT video on R2D2 ?!?!?!?!?

MERRY CHRISTMAS, guys & gals!! Don't stay GONE so long, man!

~ Anne ~

ps: Glad you're liking my posts; I've elected myself the 'resident cheerleader,' hahahaha!

Hey Anne, thanks for quoting in the definition of a Doxxer. I've honestly never heard that before and I've worked in IT support for over 25 years. Not so much in IT security, but more on the client support side and hardware asset management.

The Star Wars R2D2 "Rick Roll" link obviously didn't go over very well..... LOL I guess my little bit of harmless fun at least amused me when I posted it, so there is that, hehehe.

Hey Brett, Just a heads up up! I tried to post a picture last night with my Christmas greeting in Navy Pop Pop’s thread and it wouldn’t load. I tried a few times over the course of an hr or so. logged out, logged back in, no dice. After I chose a pic and hit go it was stuck on sending... Was logged on through my Iphone as usual

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

As someone else mentioned something about somewhere, the "timed out" time allotted for posts-in-progress seems to have shrunk quite a bit...not sure if I encountered one before the server switch... Any idea if it's a set number of minutes we could set a timer for (it'd be fun to race against a known deadline ;-), or to at least know about how long to expect? Though and/or maybe it's a way to encourage shorter/faster posts?
