As to be expected I got my 1st Nos. Struck out with CRST and TMC. In my situation I'm used to getting Nos but this time around it stings. Am really excited about a potential career in trucking and logistics, but also know I may never work again. Oh well gotta keep on keeping on. Until next time.

I'd suggest Western Express and CFI . . . (TMC doesn't surprise me, tbh...)

Please let us know!!!!!! Wish you well, sir. DON'T get so 'easily' discouraged...we've got 'intel,!' haha!

Hey Burch Tree, I have been a very successful driver. I have had people begging me to work for them. But... when I first got into this I could have filled a page with names of companies that said "NO" to me. I understand your frustration, but just keep at it - someone's gonna give you a shot.

You've just got to keep putting out those applications. Once somebody gives you a chance then you prove yourself to them as the most productive driver they have ever seen. We establish ourselves out here. Determination, commitment, and a resolve to be the very best will get you where you want to be in this career. Any of the major carriers can help you get started. Don't worry about which one it is. Once you've found an opportunity, take it and make it happen.

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

I thank you Anne and Old School, always nice to have kind words and genuine support. I was expecting a few Nos so its not too surprising, I'm just already beat down before i got here and had a day where I fell backwards. Fortunately I have no plans of heading backwards lol. Besides you've got to get the NOs out of the way before you get to the yes's haha. Thank you for not letting me give up and tbh as desperate as I am to get out on the road and start making money realistically I probably needed a little more time to get my affairs in order before i up and head out on the road, if I'm being honest with myself (which I need to be) lol.

As I said before, call CFI, speak with a recruiter and be honest and tell them Scott recommend you and if all goes well, I would be happy to be your finisher. I get no kind of bonus or money for bringing students to CFI. I love the company so much and think they're a fantastic company to work for.

CFI did away with the $1K referral bonus, Big Scott?

There's a video on YouTube showing a huge driver referral bonus. The video is dated 2019, but it's still up. Is this program no longer available?

CFI referral bonuses can mean big money

$1,250 after driver delivers the first load

$750 after 6 months

Hey Brett,

Haven't seen you around much lately. I hope all is well.

They have increased that, however it is only for bringing in drivers with experience. They do not give anything for students. If they did I would not be pushing so hard to get them.

About 34 percent of our drivers come from our students.

I believe the current referral bonus is $3000.00, I don't know how it's paid out.

As a finisher, I get an extra 12 CPM while a student is on my truck. We do not lack for students. There is a bonus for the quantity of students we do, however, I don't know what that is.

I don't get referral bonuses because I don't spend time talking to driver's. I usually go to sleep shortly after stopping.

I am a finisher because I enjoy teaching and helping others get a good start.

CFI gives second chances on a case by case basis. We have good benefits, pet and rider policies, great leadership, excellent well maintained equipment, and now a refer division. We are also one of the few companies that allows drivers to carry firearms.

Yes, I love this company. I have the most hassle free job I have ever had.

CPM:

Cents Per Mile

Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.

Any updates, Burch? I recommended Dutch Maid to a gentleman in the 'General' thread forum, and he's off and running ... actually, today!

Wish you well ~
