Got my first flower load just now. I hear Prime people complaining about these all the time. Multiple stops, Driver unload. Anyone here have experience with the dreaded flower loads? Are they as bad as people say?

I've heard from a friend that these are time consuming, tight backs, driver unloads, etc.

Should be lots of fun.

I had a plant one, specifically, Home Depot. 14 stops!!! At some locations, I had to call and call. When dealing with *13* managers at the dropoffs, SOMEONE is going to be having a bad day.....yeah that happened a couple times (one of which her subordinates actually apologized for her) "she's going through some family things". When unloading, plants would inevitably tip over......topsoil and mulch all over the place, including between the pallets with blisters waiting with no gloves. Equipment/customers in the way shopping/loading plants/flowers. I've seen some driver's with super short tempers and a lot less patience than myself. It would be very interesting to see camera crews follow these guys on such loads. Cruel...but people would definitely watch.

That sounds like an awful experience, Smart C. But,

Hallelujah! I got super-lucky on this. Only one stop...2,700 miles away near Miami, FL. Only problem is that I might get another load of flowers coming out of Florida.

Not all floral loads are driver unload. There is a note on my file that I won't do those...

You often need more than 4 load locks and lease.ops complain to me all the time that they have to pay for the damaged freight. one driver told me "even with 7 load locks in paid $3000 on damages. I never did another one because I was paying them to work".

There are a few distributors in miami that are now touch flowers....i do them. 😂

I’m here in Miami getting my first floral. This place is super busy and u have to back from the street. Terrible people blowing their horns , trucks parked everywhere. Thank goodness I got it in the door! I don’t have any drops just carrying it to the yard in Pierson Fl.

If you come in from wrong street you have to blind side

This is where I was.... And if you look it is and oval driveway....but 2 ways. I took a video that I need to upload cause it is pure chaos as all different trucks are coming and going in both directions and blocking each other.

Thanks for the warnings and helpful information, you guys. I'm going to a receiver called, Tinpac just outside Miami, in a town called, Doral. I will scope it out using Google maps.

We discussed this topic last night. Unload 3000 boxes by hand, take each one into building, several stops.

I could use some exercise though.
