I wanna know if there is any company that would help get me my CDL with my 3yr old felony?

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Howdy!

In your post from 3 days ago, several people responded to you with links. Go thru those links and apply for jobs with one of them. There is one link about driving and being a felon...read that one especially.

How old are you? That may have a bearing with companies also.

Most carriers require anywhere between ages 23 to 25 due to insurance. How long since you completed your sentence (jail/prison and well as parole/probation)? Your best bet is to use this link to Apply For Paid CDL Training and see if any of those companies give you a chance. Also, Swift, C.R. England, CFI and Western Express may be worth applying to.

Companies are so short drivers right now that you have a great opportunity to get hired.

Apply everywhere, don't get discouraged or dejected. If you get a rejection, suck it up and move on.

KID,

You could also check with Dutch Maid Logistics, here in Willard, Ohio. They are a 'little known' 2nd Chance company; AND they train!

Optical is still hanging in with them, happily, so it seems!!

Best wishes,

CFI takes everyone on a case by case basis. They usually give people a second chance. They will train you for free. My first student was 21. Give them a call.

Here is a link to their Student Training section of their website.

It will probably show. Stay away from all of that. None of it is tested.
