I just finished another meet & greet with a member of TT, BigScott from CFI. My wife and I had lunch with him at the Loves in Max Meadows, Va. We enjoyed talking trucks and things before he had to continue his trip to NC for a delivery. I'm enjoying meeting with some of the members here on TT for some good chat and lunch when there is time. There are some very interesting and great drivers here and I totally enjoy some good old time conversation since I retired exactly 10 years ago today. Oh-oh that means today is my birthday and I reached 72 years young. Lucky me. I hope to meet some more drivers when we go to Franklin, NC on July 1 through August 31. Thanks to all and be safe.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY young man!! ;-) may you have a wonderful day!

Is it raining up there? It started during the day down here near Greensboro and hasn't let up yet.

Take care!

IDMtGal,

Thanks Laura. It stopped here about noon just before I met with BigScott. You be safe too.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

PackRat,

How you been partner? Have you started that dedicated run yet? I appreciate the well wishes. You be safe and I look forward to another meet someday.

Dedicated Run:

A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."

Thanks AnneA.,

I appreciate the well wishes and the info on Kearsey. I do not feel old enough to be 72 and I miss the trucks since retiring but I always visit the truck stops and chat with some of the drivers and always offer coffee or lunch. They appreciate it most times. If I ever get to Ohio I would love to meet you and Tom. Heck even Don too from the company. Have a great day and thanks again.

Happy birthday! 🎂

I'd get you a cake but that many candles would start a fire!

Hey Bobcat Bob that's true. I just buy the numbers 7 and 2. Smaller fire and you don't have to breath to deep to blow them out.

Dispatch is keeping me going all the wrong directions, but I have a fix for that. While your in Franklin we’ll ride the bike up and have lunch.

Stay dry and safe!!
