Rittenhouse not guilty. It might be a good idea to avoid democrat cities the next few days.

Wow! What gets me the most is the fact that it should not boil down to Democrat or Republican. Three day plus deliberation by the jury. Well I will not say anymore. Lets hope we can be grown-ups and peace will prevail.embarrassed.gif

EPU:

Electric Auxiliary Power Units

Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices

I think this would have better been stated as "Be careful in large cities and exercise vigilance, listen to local news radio and stay out of hot spots." However, this is advice that should be followed all the time anyway, regardless of the verdict of a jury trial, etc.

I predict a deletion for this unnecessary, likely inflammatory political thread...

Play nice, and stay safe.

You got that right TCB. Chicago especially. They love to loot and burn. But CPD canceled days off so all hands on deck at the moment.

You think this is unnecessary and an inflammatory political thread??? No, it's not. Last summer when this event occurred and BLM went to burning mostly "Democrat" towns, it was necessary to know where to go around the unrest. My safety guy just sent out an email reminding us to be mindful of riots and to call the office if we need help going around dangerous situations.

This should NOT be deleted.

Drivers be vigilant. Get news updates. If violence breaks out steer clear. May the good lord shine a little light on you.!

And any driver who has more than air between their ears knows this. Anyone who was not in a coma for the last year is aware of where the rioting was taking place, who was responsible and how bad it was, even if they want to feign ignorance. Personally, I was delivering in Portland during the worst of it, and outside of downtown you wouldn't know anything was happening other than the smell of the fires. I've also been to a customer in Kenosha itself since the above referenced incident.

This is not the place for political commentary.

I consume news like a fat kid eats twinkies. As of right now, according to Fox News, there are no reported riots. I pray for continued calm, but use your common sense.

I respectfully disagree. This is absolutely a necessary topic. For too long we have avoided the 800 pound gorilla in the room. In the US, blue islands, major cities that are often under democratic rule have an episodic nature of being quite dangerous and violent due to corrupt leadership, defunding the police, a general reluctance to punish criminals and ordinances that bar citizens from defending themselves as protected in the US constitution. In the trucking industry, we face great peril in these areas. Even more so with the embracing of looting, rioting, murder, theft and general violence that has been sanctioned in places like Baltimore, Seattle, Portland, MSP, LA, NY, etc by municipal rulers. It is extremely dangerous for truckers, we have seen time and time again, truckers assaulted, ripped from their cabs, killed and wounded in these dangerous areas.

To make matters worse. Many companies prohibit us from defending ourselves along with many municipalities and states. They bar us from legally carrying and defending ourselves and vehicles, our home. In addition to that, if we do choose to defend ourselves, were likely to be punished for it while the perpetrators get off free with little or no recourse.

Its absolutely smart and a measure of preparedness to take stock of how the radical progressive left in this country will react to justice that was served. They have a history of rioting and violence in response to this in areas that sanction it. Those same areas are major trade routes for us. Its very much a real and present safety danger.

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
