As an avid traveler (I have been travelling for most of my life), I very likely have no problem being in places and sleeping in a truck. But spending my one week of home time in a small town that I don't know anyone is not going to be easy for me.

I dont know if you are aware of this but, you can take home time anywhere you want. It doesn't matter what your "home address" is. Your "home" can be a p.o. box in Nevada. You can take home time close to friends and family anywhere in the country as long as you have a place to park your truck.

Hope this helps...

Thnx for the info. Yes, I know about it but I have been mobile and nomad style for a long time, so I really need to have a place for sometime until I really feel comfortable with job!

"However, there are places that nomads frequent more often than others. These include RV-friendly towns such as Quartzsite, Ariz., Niland, Cali. (i.e., Slab City), Yuma, Ariz., and the entire state of Florida in the winter." Dec 2, 2021

ps: Personally, I'd establish residence in NV, tax free, way to be!! ... rent a 'room' .. so easy. I helped a now 13 year driver, do this.

pps: Change your screen name BACK, haha!! (IMHO!) .. leave 'this one' in parenthesis.. as I did w/mine.. and the 'real you' first!

aka: Anne A. (G13MomCat) ... my other half is/was G13TomCat on another 'unhelpful' forum, so .. yeah! I need to change MY parenthesis to 'Momma Anne' actually, haha!

Best always,

~ Anne & Tom ~

You speak 3 languages? Wow, that’s very impressive. What are the other two besides English?

Italian, and Spanglish.

BK, I speak trucker. Added bonus.

Post of yours? That sucked, dude. I've even emailed YOU.

If that 'dig' is to me ...

Watch me whip, watch me nay nay!! Nay Nay !

Nawh, mods.. G' and O/S . . . I'm good. I deal w/ my own battles. Some of my BFF'S IN TT ARE ON SPEED DIAL, yeah, huh???

BK, I've been in the industry for MANY years.. I'm not Brett, nor 'know' him. Tom was a 'populous' on TTR. Until they became, what.. they became. Go LOOK UP some rockin' xhiz from G13Tomcat on that site! Huge contributor, Until he WASN'T. Mack E6 .. moderator, decided Tom wasn't 'good enough' to keep up with Brad (Bzinger) and... next???? I can list them ALL. Oh Yeah, Dave from Texas or somebody.

Tom gave SO MUCH to SO MANY on TTR. If the mods delete this, fine. Truth. Hurts.

Wanna see some SHADE over there? Go look at the old 'Garage, Beer, and Offtime' Thread. Go look how he helped Boattlebot & got shade. and shamed.

He will NEVER forum again. Can't blame him.

Helped Luc (or Luccc??) get in w/ Dutch Maid, over there. Chinatown from TTR became 'sea' something here.. shut him down. Did I have a hand? Nope.

You like me, or not. I've even emailed you. I'm a 'byatch' in the industry, and like that part . . . just can't pass the physical. Bet I can still slam some gears, tho. I keep friends. It pays off. Not in Bennies, but... in MANY more ways.

Now, it's me here. Love me, hate me.

Deal, or don't.

IF THAT IS for the o/p . . . .

Welp, i apologize. Right behind 'my rant' . . . and you are always 'downing' on me, BK!

Why does it matter?

Speak TRUCKER!

I hardly consider what Bruce or Anne wrote as “ripping” the OP.

My opinion of this may differ from others; the OP changed his name due to his perception that we are a “perfect forum” and he wanted to be remembered. Not sure if humor played into it… regardless I can assure you that we are not perfect and typically do not consider any questions annoying.

I remember content, not the Forum Name.

Whole thread took a turn. Agreed GT. Content. However the content questioned the op's choice of screen name. Who cares? All good. My apologies. I could have worded a lil better. My intention was just as the smileys portray. Laughter. Hammer down!sorry.gif thank-you.gif smile.gif

Ok, I didn’t intend to throw a wrench in the works. I apologize to Rookie and to George and to anyone else who found fault with my comment about the screen name.

Maybe getting back to the original thread, have you tried Schneider? I met many students and drivers that were hired out of Florida. Might be worth a phone call to Schneider recruiting.
