I see a lot more of this happening over the next few years. It will become impossible to operate when diesel nationwide goes over $8.00 per gallon (and it will), so more companies will fold. Good for Heartland---this was an all cash purchase from what little I've seen.

You always come through like 'skittles in the sky' George B! Thank you.

Very interesting !!! I saw ZERO ill effects, re: Millis . . . as well. But for, the lack of onboarding 'new' trainees. . .

Noob Driver?? Others? Pete E. Pothole ?? Last two I recall, SO SORRY, i REALLY try!!

I'm following, as well. ^^ Heartland's Roots . . .

How'bout this? Millis & Heartland?

George & Pack, I'm no 'expert' like Rickipedia was... by no means. All I DO know, is that when Millis acquired Heartland, their training facilities, or lack thereof, became ... somewhat of a 'something.'

~ Always, Anne ~

ps: sorry. . . keeping it real.. I'm still looking DEEP into this one!!

Heartland bought Millis, not the other way around, Anne.

Nothing major has changed. Pay went up slightly, they did scale back our trucks a bit by removing top bunks and tables. The biggest change was our shops cutting hours, that's the only thing that has been frustrating. My miles havent gone down at all and I have a bunch more terminals I have guaranteed parking at. Plus they've rebuilt our alvarado tx terminal , are rebuilding Cartersville GA as we speak and next up is Richfield WI when that's done.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

HeartLand has huge money. They just bought a car shipping company Long Distance Towing that does routes from California to Florida https://longdistancetowing.com/what-does-it-cost-to-tow-a-car-from-california-to-florida/

Honestly, I didn't not know heartland had that kind of money laying around.
