I wish my truck was parked next to that pond, I’d spend my entire 10 hr break in the water. As it is, I’m parked at the Thermo King shop in Mt Pleasant, TX waiting to get my APU sleeper berth A/C fixed. At least I get a motel room for tonight. Hopefully they have a pool, Supposed to “only” hit 97 today but I’m betting on at least 100. My dashboard number right now says 110 on the truck in the sun. Trying to get used to the heat in case the ex-wife is right when she told me I’m going to hell. For my part, I hope she goes to heaven so I won’t have to share hell with her.

I hope all you drivers are able to stay in your trucks and the A/C is working adequately.

Sleeper Berth:

The portion of the tractor behind the seats which acts as the "living space" for the driver. It generally contains a bed (or bunk beds), cabinets, lights, temperature control knobs, and 12 volt plugs for power.

APU:

Auxiliary Power Unit

On tractor trailers, and APU is a small diesel engine that powers a heat and air conditioning unit while charging the truck's main batteries at the same time. This allows the driver to remain comfortable in the cab and have access to electric power without running the main truck engine.

Having an APU helps save money in fuel costs and saves wear and tear on the main engine, though they tend to be expensive to install and maintain. Therefore only a very small percentage of the trucks on the road today come equipped with an APU.
