Thanks everybody for the replies. I was able to find a new company after their recruiters told me no four times in a row. Recruiters can be some of the Most incompetent people I swear to God.

Keep that to yourself. Letting them know your honest opinion can make them less likely to help you out if you ever need it. You attract more bees with honey.

Damn man, I typed up this whole long response trying to explain everything and be nice but honestly it'll be lost on you so I deleted it. Your attitude stinks dude, seriously. Sounds like your second boss might've been a pretentious butt nugget...totally possible. But you really have no idea how this works. In a nutshell, it's pretty much... you're new and have a less-than-stellar driving record and there are more drivers than freight right now. So if you want to drive a truck, suck it up buttercup and be patient until you have experience and more distance from the blemishes on your MVR. And calling recruiters incompetent is ridiculous considering you're brand new to the industry and don't know your head from your own a**. I know firsthand recruiters often don't know as much about the job as they should or might even lie to you to get you in the door, but there's also alot more that goes into recruiting than meets the eye. You sound like a nightmare of an employee and if I had a company and heard the way you talk to and about people and saw your definition of "taking responsibility" I wouldn't touch you with a ten foot pole. You're a walking liability.

MVR:

Motor Vehicle Record

An MVR is a report of your driving history, as reported from your state Department of Motor Vehicles. Information on this report may include Drivers License information, point history, violations, convictions, and license status on your driving record.

Thank you PianoMan! You put it very succinctly!

While I was home, I typed up a pretty long comment basically telling him what you did. I don't get a very good signal from T-Mobile and it sat spinning for a bit. A call came in and I lost it. Having a headache, I said screw it! he's not worth getting uptight over.

Glad you and others called him out

Laura

DAC:

Drive-A-Check Report

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).

It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.

Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.

Roger that. That is exactly why I remained anonymous and didn’t name any companies on this post.

My record wasn’t why I wasn’t getting work though so I don’t know what you’re going on about. I wasn’t getting work because recruiters kept saying they couldn’t hire me because they can’t hire drivers fired for a safety reason. I was not fired for a safety reason. Then it was because they were trying to find information not disclosed on a DAC report, something about an altercation which I never mentioned because it never happened. If you can’t see that as incompetent then you’re ignorant. Also, as for my attitude…I don’t care who you are. If you disrespect me I will stand up for myself and if you see that as a problem then you probably expect to be allowed to disrespect people and get away with it. People come on here and just see new driver and automatically assume everything they’re doing is wrong and everything is their fault and they’re liars and horrible people. You all were new drivers once too. Btw I may have accidentally reported your comment please excuse that mods I thought I was quoting him and not reporting.

Ok, I think that's enough of you yammering on about disrespect. Respect is given to be a decent human, but anything beyond that basic courtesy is earned. Your tone set me on edge, and to keep from blasting words that will be sorely missed due to your lack of emotional intelligence, I kept my mouth shut.

I have run across dudes like you in previous careers. Walking around like you are big billy bad@ass. You completely missed the point that you are a joke. The issues you were having were of your own making. Boo hoo the company that YOU chose wasn't paying you enough? Suck it up buttercup. Had you not left the first place, you wouldn't present as a chronic job hopper.

In this industry and current market status, companies aren't going to hire the dude angling for his very own Captaincy of his ****** Canoe. They are going to hire the people that get in, and get the job done.

Usually I tolerate stupidity, but you, have managed to push it over the edge.

Congrats on being the Captain of your own Ship, you managed to chose a pretty soggy one.

DevilPuppy, you sure stirred up a hornets nest here. Didn’t anyone teach you not to do that?

Perhaps you misinterpret constructive criticism as “disrespect”. And it makes you defensive, doesn’t it? Common problem with many young people before they mature. Good luck with your new job and please let us know how long it lasts.

I think you lack literacy comprehension skills. The only disrespect I was referring to was from the guy from my second job. Everyone here is saying I have a crappy attitude because I didn’t keep my mouth shut when he flipped tf out on me. Y’all are off your rockers and off your meds.

You literally just defined BKs post. Your response was the very definition of confusing disrespect for constructive criticism.

In a nutshell, you're brand new, you know little to nothing about the industry, how to keep a job in the industry and how to listen to those of us that do.

Somehow millions of us have grasped the concept of keeping our mouths shut when a boss gives us an @ss chewing. We also are able to handle a phone call without incurring a safety violation.

This may come as a surprise to you, but the world isn't a soft place. There was a time when bosses belittled us, swore at us, threw tools at us, insulted our lineage, hit us with 2x4s and all sorts of things. It made us better workers and tougher as a result. I personally would like to see it return to that in some aspects but aside from that, so your boss hurt your feelings...get over it.

I don't expect you'll have a very long shelf life at your next company unless you learn some things that have less to do with driving and more to do with humility, open-mindedness and a host of other marketable skills.

There's a reason why you are getting plenty of feedback here that's not necessarily pleasant, it's your attitude. If you can't take feedback from your peers, what makes you think you can from your employer?
