That was my experience as well. Fortunately, my experience was enough to get me through it. That and FedEx continuously teaching hazmat procedure.
Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations
Fortunately, my experience was enough to get me through it.
I had 2 questions left that I skipped several times and needed to get one right to pass. I used my experience as well took an educated guess was able to get it right.
The part I struggled on is the stuff OD won't take. So I had no idea how any of it works.
Banks - not sure if you've seen it but there's a new member over on your diary asking some questions about FXF if ya got some time.
If you guys remember what were some of the questions you struggled with?
Unfortunately, I do not remember specifically. But it mostly had to do with different classifications. Also threw out a bunch of numbers and asked what they can and can not be with. There was 2 maybe 3 about nuclear waste and a couple more about regular nuclear materials.
I'd say out of the 30 questions on the test probably only 7ish were like the ones here on the practice test. A few more were similar but worded different.
You guys need to use the High Road CDL Training Program when preparing for the Haz Mat endorsement. The practice tests are limited in scope. That training program will get you where you need to be.

They are saying that the High Road Training Program is in adequate when it comes to Hazmat testing in certain states.

I used the practice tests here multiple times and it seems to have the same few softball questions over and over
We have 75 questions in the Hazmat section. It chooses 10 at a time randomly.
Plus it only does 10 questions at a time.
I'm not sure if that's a bad thing?
Not sure about other states but here in IL the test is 30 questions. The test covered far more in depth and detailed questions then I went through on the practice tests. Especially, nuclear, ( which always trips me up) 1.1 explosives, and a couple other random marking laws I never have to deal with.
Might be something worth looking into.
Bobcat, you've been here waaaay too long to shortcut the process and try to learn what you need to know from practice tests alone. You must use the High Road CDL Training Program and read the materials and answer the questions.

I would love it if the DMV would send me the actual test so I can use their exact questions in our programs, but for some reason they won't.

They didn't use the High Road. I checked for their scores and they didn't have any. They wanted to cut corners and hoped a few minutes running through some practice questions was enough preparation for a professional Hazmat driver. Turns out it wasn't.
Come on, guys. Please don't be lazy about it and then get on here trying to blame our materials. We have by far the best CDL test prep materials anywhere, but you have to use them properly.

I think we've both been around long enough for folks here to know that we're not lazy and we don't cut corners.
The reason you don't see anything for me is that I'm rarely logged in on the site. I only log in to post.
Could be a design flaw. We're both familiar with the site and that's what we found. I'm not blaming the material for anything, it just wasn't useful to me when I went to renew.
The post wasn't meant to be offensive or insulting, just a critique.
Turns out it wasn't.
We both passed, based on experience and our respective companies constant training.
