I'm sure some people would use it. Keeping in mind that the majority of dating platforms available are very very male heavy in the ratio of men to women. This is the biggest hurdle I forsee.

Would a driver to driver dating feature be too much to ask? Lol

Ok ladies, what do you say? We know what the guys say, but we've gotta hear from the ladies!

I mean, it's your time and money to give it a shot.... Who knows, with the right advertising it could work. But then again, it would probably be a magnet for Recreational Reptiles and human traffickers.....

It probably would.

No, I have no intention of a dating app. I want this to be a utility app that helps you guys with your day-to-day lives.

Great ideas all around. For me, Davy’s idea about customer location and shipping/receiving info would be a great advantage.

Also, state by state bridge law and any state specific truck related information.

I was only kidding about the dating feature. Anyway, I would not date anyone whose standards were so low that they would date me.

IYou go to the Hershey's plant in Hershey, PA, and you accidentally go through the wrong entrance. "Hey, Jimmy, create a reminder for me. Remind me to go in the side entrance at the Hershey's Plant in Hershey, PA"

Hey, Jimmy remind me to never go back there again rofl-3.gif

Will the app have the capability to provide information to Driver B based on information entered by Driver A? Sort of like a way to share information publicly to all users?

Or link prospective employees (regardless of experience) to drivers that currently work at the company they're interested in. For example a person is interested in applying to FedEx freight, I get an email or notification letting me know and I can answer questions or share my experience. If a driver is interested in Knight, Davy or Old School can be of assistance and so on.

It's what G Town did for me. I asked a bunch of questions about Swift and the Walmart account and the different accounts they had. He told me what he knew, what he liked and what he didn't like. In a public forum with so many different personalities and takes, things can go left fast and before you know it people are attacking and defending. It takes away from the experience and the reasons they're here.

And things tend to get shuffled (by the nature of a forum) that by the time you're on page 3, it's an entirely different topic.

Think of it as an unofficial mentor role for new hires.

I'd like to see it integrate with loyalty rewards cards/apps. For example if I need a shower it could see how many shower credits I have available at what truck stops, see which ones are busy, and offer suggestions along my route. Or even find facilities with free showers along my route (e.g. Ohio Travel Plazas).

Another idea is fuel levels and prices. I have 1/2 tank, find me the best cash price for diesel along my route. And you can set different parameters, like I get a 3% discount with company A and 5% discount with company B, etc. It would also take into consideration tax rates for various States, and other variables such as fuels treated for winter, etc.

And if it had a “sniffer” feature it could even tell a driver that he stinks and needs a shower.

Yesterday, I was in Colorado starting with a load going to North Carolina. Big storm hitting to the east of me. My navigation had me eastbound on 80. But after spending a bunch of time looking at all my weather apps, I decided that it would be better to avoid 80 and drop down to 70, then to 35 and then continue east on 40.

It would be great to have been able to enter my starting point and my destination and hit a button for “route me for the most favorable weather “. Then it would show a route map like Google maps does when asked for directions.

And this may be stating the obvious, but it would be super important to be able to get this information with voice commands while driving.

I love the idea of the app showing hole-in-the-wall parking options. I know truckerpath shows some but they're not all accurate. I'd rather trust the knowledge coming from TT drivers.

That's an interesting one. My first concern is that you'd get many people on there seeking referral bonuses, so they'll just spray sunshine. But it would be great to speak with someone who could give you the inside scoop!

The loyalty program is also interesting. I'd have to see if they have a way for me to get into their program to get that information. I'm not sure about the security aspect of it. I'm not sure they'll be able to give that information out to just anyone, but who knows? I'll look into that. I like it.

I've considered the fuel price idea, as well, and that is totally doable.

Another excellent idea, and yes, voice commands will be a big one. I'm not sure if I can implement any sort of "Hey, Siri" kind of trigger that would allow you to talk to the app without touching your phone. At worst, you might have to hit a button before talking. I'm not sure. But I know I can have it speak the responses.

Yeah, accuracy would be huge. Any information we have in this app that comes from drivers will be verifiable by other drivers. So if someone makes a mistake, another driver can enter a correction for it, and we'll review it.

I just finished version one of the Ask Jimmy!, our chatbot, so I'll start on this app this week. Nothing will be available to even get started with for at least a month I would guess, but I'll want to get a simple beta version out there for testing quickly.

Keep em coming!
