Too Many Showers?

My wife and I and our two young boys, one and three years old- recently moved into a 33 ft motorhome. Things have been interesting getting accustomed to this, but one thing we're having a hard time with is not having showers and or baths for the kids on a regular basis. We do visit the Love's truck stop as often as possible but that has become expensive as it's 18 bucks for shower. So what I'm wondering is if anybody out there has free showers daily that go unused, and would be willing to share even just a shower off of their app if it's not something that you would use everyday. I do already have a friend that has let my wife and I use his barcode to use the showers that he gets but they're very infrequent as he typically shops and buys his gas at pilot. Which is 50 miles from where we are parked- instead of Love's which is 3 miles away.

I am not asking for anything that is against the Love's Policy (I've checked, and I would be happy to show you as well)

Also, if I posted in the wrong place,or if it's not allowed, I apologize, we just really need a shower and I'm broke til the 5th of next month.

Most motorhomes have a shower in them. What's up with yours?

Are you aware you can request a "team shower?" That gives you 2 shower rooms for the price of one. Each parent can take a child to their respective shower and everybody gets bathed by only using one shower credit.

When we live unconventionally we have to think outside the box. Surely you can come up with solutions for this. Why don't you have a card from the truck stop? You could be gathering your own shower credits as you get fuel for your mobile domicile.

I spent a year in my youth living in a tent in a wilderness area. I bathed three or four times each week in a nearby stream. There are a lot of creative ways to bathe. You need to look for workable/practical options. Don't get stuck in thinking the benevolence of truckers is the only way to handle this situation.

I did not know that about the team shower thing I'll have to look into that- as for the shower in our Motorhome, yes there is, as a matter of fact, there are two, one is outside the main door for showering after having fun so the mess stays outside- very much a luxury most people will never enjoy in this lifetime .. sadly, neither will we, as it would require water, which we are hauling in by the barrel. We live right close to the river, literally a stones throw, but to have the kids bathe in that water? Yeah that would probably get us in trouble after one or both kids die of Dysentery...

Now, don't take this the wrong way, but if it was Just me (I'm 41 btw) I would do a swan dive off the dock at the local boat launch every morning to wash my junk, or use the bathroom at the Chevron, or go to a local gym and get a membership, or break into unoccupied rentals, or catch the sprinklers at Walmart at 3am. Or work on my rain dancing to conjure showers when and wherever I need ...

But I can't do those things with kids. Or rather, I won't. Benevolence? You mistake me for a Gen Z Snowflake, I'm not here looking for some Gracious Trucker Driver to Bestow upon me his Lifetime supply of showers so I can keep my Snot Nosed Semen Demons clean. All I'm asking for is a hookup, a pay it forward of something that would otherwise go unused and be wasted.

I don't drive enough to build points, we are parked on property we are working on developing. By the end of summer we will have running water, power, and hopefully Wifi. But until then, paying 18$ roughly every two days, (if you have kids, you would understand) is expensive and I could be putting that 270$ toward our property development.

Look at it this way- I'm basically Dumpster Diving for showers because it's a Luxury we don't get right now. I'm asking for the privilege to use something that you would otherwise be throwing away. I don't want to take away from your shower time, and I don't want to cause any inconvenience in any way. I'm just looking for someone that would rather see them go to good use than be wasted. Someone to text occasionally to keep a line of communication open as to who gets to scrub their crustiness that day. Thats all I'm looking for... Sorry if I made you think I was entitled to your showers at your greatest inconvenience.

Ok here's how we get our supply of water. Living in basically the jungle environment atop our mountain. There's a small river about 300+ yards away, our house I had built is on a hillside.

We have a black plastic irrigation type hose 1" diameter coming from the river, to our house by gravity. Filling 3, 55 gal drums out front by a cement 400+ gal tank we built. Then 1, 55 gal drum in our bathroom (scoop baths) 3 more drums atop our septic 12" cement area where my wife washes clothes in her washer/by hand. We need these drums/tank water for honey to water her flower farm across the road from us, using an electric power washer pump. Which I also bought a gas 1 to pump water from the wells @ the river during summer when water is low to our house (only needed once last summer) and we share our water flow with an auntie across the yard from us for her washing/bathing needs

Since there is no such thing here in the province of plumbed water access/delivery. Typically I take 2 baths a day, sometimes 3 even using the scoops we buy/have and I am used to the sometimes really cold water bathing hahaha. We just don't drink the water, and have a spring also for water to cook with. But we go to a local filling station to fill our sparklets type bottles (10 of em) for drinking

Sure glad the water's FREE from nature, because the cost of water we use here, in the US would cost a fortune!!

Hopefully, you will fix your issue @ your property, as soon as you possibly can, especially since your kids are soooo young right now!!

Do like every other bum at the truck stop, hang out by the fuel desk and see of anyone can give you a shower credit. We can't really give a credit unless we're physically at the same location. The app works by location and many of us have are funding sources tied to it to purchase fuel using our phone, at least if we're smart. I haven't had to pay at the pump in a couple years.

But I have a lot of questions. At 41, you decided to abandon normal life and subject your wife and kids to living in a motor home on an raw land? With no viable income?

If you had any experience developing land, why didn't you get a loan for building? While its not uncommon to use an rv while you build a custom home, we always got the permits for water, sewer and temp power and had those ran with temp services. At least a faucet and a port o let.

Or are you doing some off grid, non permitted, non conforming building? If so, those are a nightmare and usually end catastrophic.

Just saying, you might have ran some decisions better and you wouldn't be in the shower pickle.

Yes, I plan on bringing water from the creek, I also plan on utilizing the flowing water for power generation, I have many plans, but all of it requires money, and which I'm quickly running short on- but I'm still a couple weeks away from having water running via Ram Pump

At 41, I moved us in our Motorhome to develop this piece of land my wife inherited when her grandfather died, I've paid property taxes on it for several years now, with big plans but no action.

The owner of the Print Shop I worked for as a Machine Embroidery Technician Retired, and closed up shop, leaving me without a job.

I'm looking for work right now, so between working on the property, job searching, and being a father, I'm staying pretty busy.

My wife and I both knew things would be rough for a few months, but we are ready for it.

So at the end of the day, when I'm exhausted, and don't feel like heating water on the floor forge after I bring it up half a barrel at a time so I can have a dirty bath in a stock tank.

It's a true luxury to be able to enjoy the clean Facilities that loves has, as well as the unlimited hot water, and clean towels.

Is that such a difficult thing to comprehend?

If asking for someone to hook me up with something that would have otherwise gone to waste is such an issue, then by all means, continue posting what YOU think is best for my family and I.

I'm not saying I know everything, but I do know a lot. I know what I'm doing for my family and our future.

If I need help with anything else I'll probably post to the related Message board.

So if you don't want to hook me up with this disposable luxury that would not affect you in any way, I understand, and I'm cool with that- but please don't waste any more of my time. I don't know why I even thought this would be a

And No, I don't want to drive out to the truck stop to beg for a shower while my wife and kids wait in The Car with the possibility I won't have any success in someone helping.

I'm just asking for a shower that doesn't dip into the little bit of money we have.

We can’t just give you the info for our Love’s rewards so you, a complete stranger, can have access to our Loves accounts.

If I were you I’d just ask a driver at the truckstop if they can spare a shower. A lot of us have unlimited showers and would happily help you out if we were there and you asked

So I was under the impression that the screenshot my buddy sent me with a barcode was literally for showers- I did not realize it was part of the app or anything- so my apologies, I usually just scan his barcode and they give me a showers- he confirmed it's for his app that's also everything else, but of course I have no interest in any of the other stuff, which knowing me, he has no problem letting me do that- I absolutely would not expect anyone else to give me that info, especially not knowing me- So forgive my ignorance in the whole Matter-

Yes, I use his showers whenever he gets them, but he normally uses Pilot, which he has the unlimited shower perk there, but only uses loves when he has to so yeah, it's great when he does and he lets me know there's a shower there and that's that, it's just not very often.

And pilot is too far away to be useful for me so yeah- no worries- it's all good.

I got the jenny charging the batteries in my RV directly and everything electrical is now running through the inverter so we have power 24/7 now as long as I burn 6-8$ worth of gas per day. Solar panels are soon to come. tomorrow I'm going to start working on bringing water up from the river- and from there we should be smooth sailing.

Thanks for your friendly input though .. in hindsight I kind of expected to see far more hostility than was shown.

Ya'll take it easy~
